Plus, there's the first reaction test. When you hear a goalie's name, can you immediately say he was amazing. With Hasek, Brodeur, Roy - it's a no brainer. With Cujo, you kind of have to say "well, hmmmmmm......." That is telling.
I don't think anyone is putting him in the Hasek/Brodeur category. Not even close.

There's very little randomness involved when you're looking at a 940 game career. Maybe a reduced total due to his team (if he'd played for the Devils his whole career he obviously would have had a lot more shutouts) but it's not random variance.

It's not a significant stat in determining the value of a goalie. If a goalie wins 4-0 or 4-1, does it really make a difference? Meanwhile save percentage measures the full body of the season (or career) rather than counting how many times the magic number occurred.

In his time he was a very popular goaltender and was very effective. He is not a legend or one of the best of all time. But he was very good. I don't need stats to know that.

HAHA.. I'm loving the CUJO talk!!

I still find it funny that Cujo left Toronto for a shot at winning a cup in Detroit, to only return to Toronto..

The return to Toronto certainly didn't help.
