Hey guys this is for my main league, salary cap points only. I have a strong, cheap forward group heading into the season. I'm looking to win this season.
Because of our format the draft is very deep and there will be a lot of quality players available. How would you guys rank the following players: (salaries $mil) pavelski (4) stepan (0.875) b schenn (0.9) voracek (3.5) d brown (3.5) wheeler (2.65) p bergeron (4.55) hartnell (3.2) desharnais (0.95) ribeiro (5) fleischmann (4.5) krejci (5.25) pominville (5.5) ennis (2.563) m koivu (5.4) vanek (6.4) thornton (7) weiss (4.1) berglund (2.4) filppula (3.5) versteeg (3.6) lucic (4.25) jvr (2.5) Try to weigh points value against their salary when ranking them. This list is roughly in the order that I have these guys ranked for the draft. I know Yakupov and Schultz will probably go 1 and 2 in our draft. After that, guys like Brayden Schenn will probably get picked before he drops to me. Im really hoping for Pavelski to drop to me and if not him then I like P Bergeron a lot too, he helped me win last year. A guy like Wheeler it seems like everybody is high on and Dobber's ranking say he should be a no-brainer here, but I'm not sold on him.

Be high on Wheeler, it's okay. Believe!
Here is my order, but only eyeballed it for 15 minutes. Salary really evens them out. And I don't know how tough it is to stay under the cap. desharnais (0.95) wheeler (2.65) stepan (0.875) voracek (3.5) d brown (3.5) filppula (3.5) versteeg (3.6) ennis (2.563) jvr (2.5) pavelski (4) thornton (7) m koivu (5.4) b schenn (0.9) fleischmann (4.5) p bergeron (4.55) hartnell (3.2) weiss (4.1) berglund (2.4) lucic (4.25) ribeiro (5) krejci (5.25) pominville (5.5) vanek (6.4)

Thanks for the input from the big man himself.
So you're that high on Desh? I know he's in a relatively good position and comes with a great price tag relative to that, but I don't know a ton about him, he came out of nowhere for me last season. It's not especially hard to fit under tha cap, for instance a guy like Pavelski I have ranked really highly as 4 million is a reasonable price tag for a "guaranteed" 60+ guy...the question is am I overrating the player? And dont let the dollar signs get in your eyes, I'm looking for players that I want on my squad because they'll be excellent producers, I just want to be economical but I can spend on some guys.

I'm bored at work, so why not rank fantasy hockey players? This is based purely on what they're being paid versus how I see them scoring next season. It doesn't mean I think JVR will outscore Joe Pavelski, it's just that I think his points cost less.
stepan (0.875) desharnais (0.95) b schenn (0.9) ennis (2.563) wheeler (2.65) jvr (2.5) berglund (2.4) hartnell (3.2) voracek (3.5) pavelski (4) d brown (3.5) lucic (4.25) versteeg (3.6) ribeiro (5) weiss (4.1) filppula (3.5) fleischmann (4.5) p bergeron (4.55) m koivu (5.4) krejci (5.25) pominville (5.5) vanek (6.4) thornton (7)

Quote:
So if your current forward group is cheap, you should only be drafting the best guy available (with minimal consideration to salary). Here's how I would draft them in points-only (assuming cap hit doesn't matter based on your current financial position with discount fowards): HIGHEST m koivu (5.4) thornton (7) pavelski (4) hartnell (3.2) p bergeron (4.55) krejci (5.25) wheeler (2.65) ribeiro (5) weiss (4.1) vanek (6.4) voracek (3.5) ennis (2.563) fleischmann (4.5) desharnais (0.95) pominville (5.5) filppula (3.5) lucic (4.25) stepan (0.875) b schenn (0.9) berglund (2.4) d brown (3.5) versteeg (3.6) jvr (2.5) LOWEST I personally think that Mikko Koivu is the best of this bunch. We haven't seen the big season yet from him... but he's going to play every shift with Zach Parise. He's a key buy-low for this season. I love Dobber as much as the next guy, but putting DD at the top of the list is straight-nutty, especially if you don't need to create any cap space by getting the best point-per-dollar player. I agree with Pengwin, it sounds like you have cap space to use so my rankings are going to be similar to his:
