Default Getzlaf or Kessel

Looking to make a pitch for Kessel? Would you trade Getz for Kessel?
Cheers

I dunno I think with your settings and no differentiation between forward positions Kessel has more value because of the SHOG (SOG I'm assuming?)...

Between Kessel and Getz the points are going to be similar maybe slight edge to Kessel since because of his good season last year compared to Getzlaf's down year last year. But Getzlaf does have the higher point upside (90 point pace prior to last season) if he can stay healthy...

With that said, most of Getz points come from assists, and they're more sustainable than goals. Kessel doesn't really pick up very many assists, so his point totals are much harder to sustain than it is for Getz. But then again, you have a lot of "goal categories" hat-tricks, OTG, PPG, SHG so I mean you have a heavy emphasis on goal scorers than passers, so that gives the clear edge to Kessel.

Would I trade Getz for Kessel? Yes, but I dunno if I were the other owner that I'd trade Kessel for Getz...

THanks G/L Shog aka shoot out goals. Ya we are goal heavy and PP heavy. With Kessel Lupal and Dion on a given night could do some serious damage on a weekend or make a great come back if I need the points. There is some serious value for him in this straight up deal, First he has Perry and that would make him a great 1-2. I;m going to give this a try and see where it goes...

I bet I can get this done faster then The NHL or PA can agree to this CBA!

Ill fill you in. Cheers

hmmm then that might be different then... I was assuming SOG. It's a bit weird to have all these goal categories but not SOG...

With that said, if you have all your eggs in 1 basket it is a very "feast or famine" approach, if the Leafs go boom, you have a good result, but if they get shut out, you're done like dinner. So having split players might make it more balanced...

But with so many goal categories I think you have to go with Kessel on this one.

I'd take Kessel over Getz in leagues that favor goals and SOG.

SOG isn't a category in OP's league.

I'm not a Kessel fan so I'd go with Getzlaf. I believe he'll bounce-back big time and will put together a great season - whenever that will be played.

Also while there's a lot of categories for goals, I don't see it really favoring Kessel over Getzlaf. Neither of them really score any SHG, nor hat tricks that often and shootout goals and overtime goals are too hard to predict. Those are all crap shoot categories actually.

Kessel easily for me, there are 6 cats specifically for goals here and Kessel has averaged about 34 goals a season the last 4 years and appears to still be trending up. Even if Getzlaf returns to form he is a 20-25 goal scorer. I really like Getzlaf but this league is made for guys like Kessel.

Kessel has 2 career OT goals, Getzlaf has 4.
Kessel has 15 career shootout goals, Getzlaf has 18.
Kessel has 1 career SH goal, Getzlaf has 2.
Kessel has 3 career hat tricks, Getzlaf doesn't have any.

So again, this league really boils down to G, A, PPG and PPA. Despite there being 6 categories for goals it doesn't really favor Kessel at all and this league really isn't made for a guy like Kessel anymore than leagues usually are.
