I will disagree...but I haven't done the math. The Rangers have Richards, Gaborik, Nash. LAK has Kopitar and Doughty. Nashville has Weber.

In league where you pick 9 defensemen, I think you have to keep Weber and Doughty..and pick goalies from teams that legitimately have question marks on offense and defense.

For me, that's Buffalo (Miller), Mtl (Price), Calgary (Kipper)...and perhaps Phoenix (M.Smith)

Why? All 4 will play a shit-ton with no absolute standout in other areas for each team. (with apologies to Iggy)

There's no standout up front for the Sabres, and we don't know if Ehrhoff or Myers will do their scoring on the blueline.

I see most have picked Subban as their MTL guy, but to me it's Price. 38 wins, 8 so two years ago...65 games, 26 wins in an offyear last season. He's their best player, will play a ton. Subban is a fantastic player, but I'd rather have Weber or Doughty as one of my blueliners than him.

Iggy is coming off a 67pt season and has dogs around him. Kipper had 35 wins and 4 shutouts and will play all the time for a Flames team that, for some reason, thinks it can still make the playoffs. His numbers, barring injury, should be about right in that range again.

If we had a fourth, I'd go with Smith in Phoenix. No standout scorer up front, while Yandle and/or OEL will put up numbers on the blueline. I'd take Yandle of the two, because he's more proven offensively.

I'd choose between Smith or Kipper as my third goalie...but would lean towards taking Kipper b/c Yandle would be a key to filling my 9 dman spots.

Quick would be an easy goalie pick for me.
Great point I overlooked! Thanks for pointing it out. +Rep.
