It'll help solidify the infield. Anyone want to fathom a guess what the infield depth chart's going to look like to start the season?

Probably Lawrie - Escobar/Hechavarria - Izturis - Encarnacion.

Looking at Izturis' stats he's very solid from 2B..might as well play him where he's comfortable.

Decent signing IMO.

I'd go with this as well. Hech will be given more time in AAA to work on his game. He still has some work to do before hitting the prime time but this signing allows him to do just that.

maybe if Escobar is moved. Def gives them flexibility

I think thats the plan right now, but if the right player comes along, he could easily move to being a utility guy pretty quick too. I think it also depends on how Hechevarria plays in AAA next year too. He could move Izturis right out of the starting line up pretty quick.
