Default Trading one of Chara, Letang, Buff or Green

2nd team in signature. Another team is looking to trade for a dmen with 30+ pt and 100 hit ability.

Who should i deal out of Letang, Chara, Byfuglien and Green? Chara is older, Buff (ironic) is fatter, and Green injury prone recently.

Might be able to get Toews or Spezza in exchange. Have had failed attempts to trade with this GM before.

Well if you can manage to move Green right now for either Toews or Spezza, I'd be all over that deal. Green is such a risky player to own right now and has his value all-time low, so that's probably hard to do though.

Yah for Green I could maybe target Kesler. Similarly both guys coming off disappointing seasons marred by injury.

I'd gladly move Green for Kesler too. Kesler is a stud in that setup and I'm just not that high on Green being able to bounce back.

As for Toews/Spezza, I would move Chara for Toews. Probably for Spezza too. I'd keep Letang and Bufflin.

I would try to move Chara while you can still get something for him. I would target Toews ahead of Spezza.
I think Green will have a bounce back year as with the rest of the Washington Capitals. Letang could lead all dmen in scoring this year and Buff is a multi cat beast so you dont want to trade away any of those guys.

id be inclined to try charra for toews or spezza. i think charra will get you a good return and his age is against him compared to the others.

Haha I just traded for Chara recently giving up:
Vanek
Berglund
Tarasenko
Wisniewski
2013 3rd round pick

For
Chara
O. Jokinen
Teravenien
2013 7th round pick

This was pre-lockout.

Letang, Chara, and Buff are all more valuable than Toews or Spezza in this set-up. Green (if healthy) is more valuable too. I wouldn't go straight up for Toews or Spezza.

If you are interested in either, just say so.
Send the GM a message "I'm interested in Toews. What do you want for him?"
If he wants Green, he'll say so.
If he wants Chara, he'll say so.
If he asks for a guy you don't want to trade (say, Letang) then you can counter.

But it sounds like you are considering offering a guy to him - which is the biggest mistake in fantasy hockey trading.
If you want a guy from his team, let him pick a guy from your team. Negotiate from there.

Few weeks ago he did ask what I wanted for Chara. I requested Tavares or Toews. Then he asked for Letang and Buff and I repeated my answer. He kept offering me a package centered around O'Reilly.

Yesterday he updated his trade block requesting a offensive dman with hits, saying any of his players potentially available. so I thought maybe he's come to his senses and we can work out a trade. His strength (C) for my strength (D).

HPG tool shows similar value, but we count FOW and my best C is Granlund.
