I'd look if you can turn Chara into some young stud forward. Chara should have really high value in your league but I would entertain any options of trading him.

I'd also look if you can sell high on Erik Cole. Cole for someone like Chris Kreider or Sven Baertshi maybe? Though that's probably hard to pull off. Okposo would be another decent candidate to go after. Or Hodgson/Ennis (whomever you trust more to become Buffalo's #1 C). I'd also look at Columbus and try buy one of Johansen, Brassard, Foligno or Dubinsky. All have good potential and aren't probably too hard to get. Someone's gotta put up the points in Columbus.

Also move guys like Lecavalier, Weiss, Williams, Laich, Malone and AndyMac if you get good return for them. Keep Perron as he has very underrated potential and good be surprising a lot of guys.

This goes against my better judgement as you beat me in the playoffs last year but I don't mind chiming in here...

If I was you, I'd build my team around RNH, Parise and Huberdea for your F (that's half of your regular starters). Then I'd build my D around DD, Pietrangelo, and Edler (75% of your regular starters).

I'm not a huge fan of either of your G but Hiller is a very serviceable starter so I'd keep him longer term.

Here are a few things I'd consider with your team:

1. Trade Chara for a young F.
***Chara is a beast in our league and adding a "4th regular starter" to your F core would be ideal. In terms of Chara, you should be able to net a fine young player (someone like Lucic from me) or a collection of younger that could break out (Granlund, Baertschi, etc)
2. Trade Lecavalier/Cole/Weiss for a younger F. Take a hit on production to land a younger players.
3. As you mentioned the market for Crawford is 0...reason being you can still get decent starters on the waiver with us only starting 1 and only being able to roster 2 at any given time...case in point I just plucked Dubnyk off the waiver...so with that said he's still a valuable asset...keep him and enjoy the points.

That's the route I'd take if I was you. Load up on centerman as well. While it may look like a low-producing stat, it's actually quite impactful. If you can get a "similar name" C for one of your W, do it.

The main reason I'm suggesting you sell off your older assets isn't because I don't want you to repeat or be a competitive team, the fact is, we have some VERY stacked teams in our league and I'm not sure yours will be able to "hit it's peak" at the right time again...it wasn't just that, the toughest team (owner of Malkin, Giroux, etc) was also injury riddled...

That's my 2 sense.

Scoring structure: (Defense : G:7pts A:5pts PPG:3pts PPA:3pts), (Forwards: G:5 A:3 pts PPG:3pts PPA:2pts), (Goalies : 10 pts W / 5 pts SO, Saves: 0.2 GA: -1), ( 0.5 pts PIM, 0.1 FOW, 0.2 Hits, 0.3 pts SOG).
Looking at the type of scoring setup here, there are a few things that are evident.

You just track F positions, but you allocate points for FOW. If your F aren't taking faceoffs, you have the wrong F on your team. Only own centres, if possible. You missed the boat on this: 7 of your 11 forwards don't really take faceoffs. Methodically fix it and you'll see a nice benefit.

PIM and hits are a bit of a distraction - they dent player value but they don't make a huge difference either way. 25 hits for a goal, 10 PIM for a goal. Not huge.

SOG, likewise, make a good dent in value, but aren't the whole show. Really, we're wanting shooting centres in this format. Better if they hit and take trips to the bin, but really you want shooting centres who take FOW. Eric Staal is money in this format. Olli Jokinen is probably pretty valuable and almost certainly overlooked.

Targeting D that hit is an easy way to give them a bump in value.

Starting only 1 G definitely holds back the value of goalies. No doubt there's zero interest in Crawford if Dubnyk is available on waivers! I'd much rather Dubber...

Your D is a huge strength, and I'd trade whichever one will give you the best return at F. Chara still has a good 3+ years in him, so his age is simply an illusion that doesn't matter right now. It's easy to get caught up in the "future" but your team is plenty young, so it's just not a concern. Let the league know you want to move a D for an F, and that everyone is available... you should be able to get a serious stud at F for one of Pietrangelo or Doughty. With only 64 D started in the league the gap between those guys and the waiver level D is probably less than the gap between the forward you'd get back and the waiver-level forward.

Hope this helps!

Thank you guys.

I have been thinking about trading another of my studs on D, I was kinda relunctant because I really feel that having these 4 beast on D gives me an edge over my opponents. I will put some feelers out there.

I agree that players like Weiss/Lecavalier/Cole needs to be shopped. I have felt so far that Weiss doesn't hold much value in our league (he's just discriminated in fantasy hockey IMO). I will put them on the block and sees whats happen.

Thanks a lot guys, I will send some rep your way as soon as I can.
