Happy Sunday Gents
![]() Wondering if I should make another off season move to improve my squad. Last year I took over a yahoo drafted squad for a 9 team roto league with G A PPP +/- SOG FW HITS BLKS SHP PIM W L GAA SV SV% GAA SHO The Yahoo results were not fantastic to say the least. 80% of the players below are from trades or free agency. I'm on the fence in terms of competing for the title and I might need a couple more years to feel confident with this squad. Everything has to go right for me to compete. This is why I ask you..... should I make anymore off season moves? My forward depth is questionable. Most GM's have a what have you done for me lately? mentality NOTE: a rookie must play 65 games, Daily starts, 82 game max per position, we start 3 C, 3 RW, 3LW, 4D, 2G. Below are my keepers. No farm. Unlimited FA C - Tavares, Getzlaf, Lecavalier, Duchene (LW), Ennis (LW) LW - Parise, Hartnell, Lupul (RW), Baertschi RW - Wheeler, Voracek, Yakupov D - Phaneuf, Yandle, Seabrook, Giordano, Bogosian G - Lundqvist, Smith, Varlamov, Markstrom Team that won has noteable players including: Malkin, Perry, Eberle, Ryan, Nash, Sharp, Pacioretty, Weber, Subban, Price & Rask Thoughts? Your team doesn't compare to the winning team you listed IMO. Not a fan of ennis and bogosian should only be on this team if you're in a "rebuild" because he's not fantasy relevant at this point.
I'd try and move Lecavalier for a younger player of similar value. I'd also try and bank on Hartnell's all time high value and maybe even package him and lecavalier for a top young forward whose value is at an all time low (like a Backstrom for example). (obviously don't make the trade a two for one, get something else as well to the best of your ability) That being said, if you trade Hartnell, make sure you get some grit in return as part of the package or are able to find some in free agency.

There are 7 goalie cats. I dominated every single goalie cat last year. I only see me beating the other team if Rask & Price have so so years...... and if Smith is 80% of what he was last year. Lecavalier's value is super low for a 9 team league and I can't see getting much for him. Hartnell & Phaneuf might be the easiest to move. Duchene's value is low right now as well. |

gonna bump it and hope for some more insight from the Dobber faithful. Just also wanted to mention that rookies don't have the same value as most leagues. We have no farm and only need one "elite" rookie to play on our roster.
Perhaps package Markstrom with Phaneuf or Hartnell? Would like another consistent forward. |

To me, you've got one guy slipping bigtime (Lecavalier) and two guys at the peak of their powers (Hartnell and Lupul).
It's easy to write, but I'd be looking to move the two wingers (Hartnell, Lupul) for a younger piece (or two). I know that would leave you shaky on the LW, but I really think those two are as high as they're going to be. You could also move Ennis over to LW, if he has that dual eligibility. I'm among the group that likes what he offers. Lecavalier, I agree, is going to be tough to move for anything of value..but maybe he can be pushed into a deal with one of those two in order to get that younger player. I wouldn't mess with your goalies. Lundquist is a stud, Smith plays in a perfect system for pretty much any goalie, and I can't help thinking Varlamov and the Avs will are a team on the rise. |

thx guys
rep to you both. Been trying a few things and it's been tough as most teams are balanced. My team has a bunch low market value players for the most part. Guys in my league aren't sold on the Wheeler, Voracek, Lupul's etc.... and fair enough.I employ Pengwin7's theory of using most of my d for blocks, PIM and hits. I can easily fill those stats in free agency and am considering shopping Phaneuf for a top 6 forward. With FW as a category, would any of you trade Phaneuf for Zetterberg or Pavelski straight up? One of the GM's is very interested in Phaneuf. |

Keep Phaneuf over Zetts and Pavelski, he's more valuable than your other defensemen.

Are you trying to win this year or looking more long term? I actually like your C and LW depth, but yes RW and D could use some help. Your league has 7 G cats and you have a very good situation there....any way you could dangle Markstrom+Lupul or Hartnell to try and get a top RW? With Duchene and Ennis having LW eligibility, you have some flex there...

More looking to finish in the top 3. There is one guy that has a surplus of 70 pt forwards. He wouldn't even take Duchene & Markstrom for Zetterberg. He's high on Markstrom and has no starting goalies. Still wouldn't do the deal. Finding a top RW is tough, but I'll keep trying. I find that there's way more LW options out there. Thx for da help
