Was very happy with my draft, but while in lockout purgatory I am beginning to worry about my last two wings (Horton and Downie).
A couple of years ago these two were studs in my league settings. Can I get some views on whether or not they can return to form, or if the following waiver options are better for whatever remains of this season and the next: N. Foligno, Carcillo, Prust, Dorsett, Oshie, Selanne, Filppula (assuming wing eligibility), Doan, Vrbata, Purcell (actually drafted him, but don't particularly like his lack of grit in this type of league and dropped for Horton). Thanks!

With all of those categories I would easily take Foligno over Downie. He will give you solid numbers across the board and doesn't really have too many threats around him in Columbus.

I'd think about Oshie over Horton, too. Would be a risk but I'm not sure what to expect from Horton.

I think horton is a bigger risk than Oshie. Both do have a somewhat similar style, but oshie is expected to be a featured player, while horton runs the risk of ending up on the 3rd line. Seguin is the only forward for the bruins i like to put up big points, and lucic since he only really needs 50 to do everything else he needs to do to be worth it in roto.

I would replace your current keepers with Oshie and Doan.
You know what you're going to get from Doan, so there isn't as much risk if you were to go with a guy like Foligno. Oshie is an underrated multi-cat stud.

Thanks guys!
Now I am torn about which of these guys to run with: Downie, Horton, Oshie, Doan. I really like Oshie's game... the way I used to like Horton's game... and yet I'd hate to let Downie go because if he is in the top 6 I expect 50 points and and maybe 100-120 PIM, while if he plays 3rd line he can score 30 and hit 170+ PIM... both scenarios would make him a MONSTER in my league. Any Downie supporters out there? Shall I roll out Oshie and Downie? I think my gut is pointing me that way... I wish there was a season because I could use the Same Night Tool to show me the way. Until then, I am hoping to use my dobber pals... REP to give! Thanks,

Quote:
I'd keep Downie. He's one of the rare players with 50 point/200+ PIM upside. He fit nicely in to Colorado's lineup after the trade and will be an important player for them. With three (!!!) categories dedicated for lunatics like Downie, he's golden in your league. The other one is tough. I'm a big Oshie fan but I like Horton a lot too. I'd throw Foligno into conversation too and I actually think I'd go with him with the categories you have in your league. Foligno should contribute nicely in to all categories (well maybe not +/-) and has the opportunity to be one of the key players in Columbus. It's really close between him and Oshie but I'd roll the dice with Foligno. Horton is too risky with his injury issues and doesn't contribute to as many categories as the other two so I'd rank him last amongst these guys.
