I have a few comments to make based on what I've read above, and before I go on I want to reiterate the fact that I really do enjoy the content I read and am proud to be a member of this site. That being said, I think editing the articles is just as important as editing the guide since the articles themselves serve as a primary promo tool for the guide. Poor editing in the articles would reflect poorly on the guide despite the latter being well reviewed. Secondly, if 95% of the effort in any given article is content then you'd hate for that 5% of the workload that is related to typing and proof reading to distract from the quality content. Angus, I wasn't referring to you. Your articles are top notch in my books.

I'm pretty anal about my spelling, even down to my posts in the forum here but at the same time I'll admit I rarely edit my own articles. I'm an "edit-as-I-go" type and that does the job fairly well but I'm not immune. PLEASE post any errors I make in the comments section of my articles. If I were find out I was making way more mistakes than I thought I was then I'd make a big change in the way I put together my articles but without the feedback I'd just keep chugging along.

Also, I'm pretty terrible with regard to punctuation, so please feel free to call me out on any errors in that regard as well.

Bingo. I can't go read that site anymore. Same thing Bleacher Report.

I don't understand why people even want to write articles if they generally can't write well.

The only quip if I have on DH is one writer in particular, but he doesn't write too often: Russ Bitely. I appreciate the content and the person, but the writing needs work. Just some constructive criticism.

Don't even get me started on Bleacher Report. I almost started writing for them until I quickly realized that they don't give you the autonomy to write anything of value.

I completely agree with everything that you've said. I think for me as a writer I'm never going to catch 100% of mistakes that happen. I mean I write my stuff and I get my fiance to check every single column that I write (and she grumbles about it every time), then Angus and Dobber reads it over and checks it too and it still slips through. So I guess the thing is how much of the mistakes can you live with, before you get too peed off and say I'm not reading this crap anymore. I think we'd both agree that 5% is probably well worth the trade off in terms of content vs mistakes...

It's always great to have someone "outside of the box" keeps us in check, but I guess as long as you let us know what mistakes there are, I'm sure there will be someone out there to quickly correct it, so others don't have to "cop" the mistakes later.

A simple "hey I think you used the wrong wording", or you spelt this wrong, or the grammar is incorrect in this sentence, goes a long way in helping us improve as writers.

I know Sentium/Dakkster always calls me out for HITs and PIMs, but I'm slowly trying to get it out of my system.

We appreciate it, aleco83.

I will double check my articles when they're posted for any errors or things that need to be changed.

I usually email Jeff or Tyler Hunt (editor for Dobber Baseball) when there is something that I would like fixed after they've edited and posted the article.

How about your blog's name in the signature, or is that a play on words with your last name? Either way it doesn't add up with "law's of sport"
