I'm willing to pay for convenience and I'd be willing to pay yearly for sure. Monthly I'll admit Id have reservations on. I say this because I've been to the ESPN paid content area by the hockey prospectus guys and haven't paid yet. On the other hand I pay Sirius and the gym monthly even though I don't get value from them. Maybe a free month trial? Hook users on quality content.

On your end, if you go to paid content too early you might not get the membership you'd need to make it worthwhile so the results of this survey would be important.

I sent you a PM regarding this as well

While I personally wouldn't mind paying a one-time fee, I think the economics of attracting a large enough user-base to justify the costs will be challenging given the availability of free information through news sites, forums (like this one) as well as fantasy hockey league providers (cbs, espn, yahoo, etc) - which do a pretty decent job of providing up-to-the hour updates.

I can't see widespread demand for a product like this... it is too niche. Most fantasy hockey players out there would not have a deep enough appreciation for the insights you would be bringing. Sure there are the die-hards who will pay, but they are by far the minority.

Nevertheless, I hope you prove me wrong

Yeah see that's why I'm kinda gauging interest at the moment. Hopefully I can grab enough of the "casual" fans to justify pulling off this project.

I'm not looking to strike it rich (well at least not yet)... But if there's enough to kinda break even for me, and maybe make a couple hundred bucks along the way to justify the time spent, that's kinda all I'm after.

I just don't really see a product out in the current market that kinda covers what I'm planning on achieving... Trust me I've spent hours scouring the current products that are available for free and pinpointing the advantages and disadvantages of each, and how I plan on implementing and improving those products to develop this project.

I'm just a huge fan of fantasy hockey, and I want to do my part to help it grow and also to help poolies garner the best possible fantasy edge out there.

If I fail miserably at least I know I've tried, but I'd love to know that there's enough of a market to at least try...

Ditto for me....

Please, keep us posted; am definitely interested.

I voted for the $5 download one time fee initially.

However if you are in fact producing your own content and not just recycling rotoworld stuff, I am sure ppl would consider paying a $1 monthly subscription, and say $3 fee for basic app to get more initial audience.

Me personally, if there absolutely positively has to be a subscription cost, then I would rather have it on an annual basis. I avoid monthly/weekly or per diem fees.

This is something I echoed to you via PM.

I think subscription fees would be a major turnoff, but if there must be fees, then annual is only way to do it.

Yeah I think I'm going to shy away from the subscription option. Doesn't seem like there's a lot of interest.
