I'm just trying to understand why you feel you need to do this trade. The goalie upgrade is there, but you already have Rinne, why would you need Ward and Schneider?

Are you planning on flipping Schneider or Ward to another team to get a keeper upgrade somewhere?

This is part of what I am trying to get at as well. If you replace Howard with Ward (or Schneider) this year, any increase in points would need to offset the loss from Zetts (or whoever you trade) to the guy on your roster that you expect to replace him with. I have not had the time to calculate this (e.g. based on projections, data from the last two years etc.). If you think you come out ahead here then from a one year perspective it makes sense. I wouldn't worry about having to drop Pitkanen.

However, in a keeper, I can see the potential in grabbing Ward and Scheider in this trade and if/when Scheider is the clear cut starter down the raod trying to trade one of your goalies for some help up front.

Zetterberg is a 70 point guy.. Getting older.. and I figured I have enough depth to secure a future possible 80 point goaltender with Ward or Schneider..

My return would be Tarasenko and Schneider/Ward and in turn I'd give him Zetterberg and Halak.. Possibly..

That would give me Rinne, Howard, Schneider/Ward in net..

I would only be concearned about future keepers.. If i dont keep Tarasenko it means Ive traded Halak and Zetterberg for a upgrade in net..

I might need to go for a bigger forward.. But then i bet he'll decline.

I just think that before making a big move like this, you need to be sure that you can flip a goalie for a position of need.

I look at your team and I see a need for D, as you only have one stud D keeper. You have lots of forwards, maybe instead of doing a deal like this you want to shop players like Hossa, Elias, Huberdeau and Semin.

For example, I have no problem giving up Howard and Zetterberg. However, IMO its better to sell one of those goalies and upgrade somewhere else.

I think Rinne and Ward is a formidable tandem, make the trade and trade Schneids/Elias for a big time keeper forward. You could trade Schneider and something for a D and a forward you could keep.

That's just my opinion.
