I'm in a 10 team roto and due to a draft order snafu, I ended up grabbing a bunch of goalies that were not part of the plan.

So what do you guys think? Am I hooped in net this year or will this set of goalies stay competitive?

Start 2, 90 game roto. W, GAA, SV, SV%, SHO
I over drafted goalies for insurance, I won't keep them all as the season progresses but I have.

Quick (keeper), Dubnyk, Brodeur, Theodore, Vokoun.

In a 10 team league I have to imagine that's pretty weak goaltending. Obviously Quick is a stud but after that you have a lot of question marks - how will Marty perform will another year of wear? Can Dubnyk handle the starting gig? Can Theodore perform like last year and hold off Markstrom? Can Vokoun steal starts from Fleury?

I think you should be ok. You have an elite tender in Quick, and then four serviceable guys who should be pretty reliable.

But when looking at your sig and seeing you're in a 10 team league, I must say that I was surprised you weren't more stacked on offense considering you didn't have another elite goalie.

Not to mention what possible scheduling conflicts are there.

Weak goaltending for my tastes personally...though I tend to invest heavily in goaltenders early as my own personal strategy. Especially with saves as a category.

If you were in an H2H league instead of a Roto league I think you would be better off. Your goaltending is a little weak but you can improve on that during the season if you have to.

With 180 goalie games open to you I think you are a little weak, especially with saves thrown in as a category (obviously favours those who play more games). I think there are a lot of question marks around your goalies past Quick and my worry is that even if you can start 150-180 games there is no guarantee the quality is there (might kill your GAA and SV% in the process).

You really need Brodeur or Dubnyk to step up (I don't have a lot of confiedence in Theo).

Partial keeper/not a snaking draft/defending champ so I'm picking last, so most of the offensive players are already on teams and those that were left were snatched up in round two before I got to pick again.

Plus I had to have Yak so I took him first instead of a goalie like Varlamov or Smtih.

Wouldn't having more goalies help? Then I'm more likely to fill the goalie games.

However as others have pointed out, yes too many goalies = scheduling conflicts... but I stick to my rules for goaltending management.
1) Play your stud goalie. Quick is in every night he plays. Regardless of matchups.
2) Play the hot hand. So if any goalie is on a streak, he goes in next to quick.

I'm just really worried that I won't have a hot hand to play with Quick... lol. Angus was high on Dubnyk which gave me some hope.. thanks for the replies but I guess it's good to hear the reality.
