Let me just start by saying that you guys are total saps. You got totally sentimental and voted Brodeur off the island last week and frankly it didn't feel earned. What has he done these past few years to give you any confidence in his abilities? I think you guys lied and cheated to get him off because of who he was and not because of who he is now. You guys made a Toskala-sized mess of Toskala Island and I couldn't be more proud. Let's see if we can't get our collective Vesa on and botch this week's vote as well!

Mason will be the last man standing on Toskala Island so this choice was a little easier. I went with Doob!

Brodeur got voted because he back stopped his team to the Stanley Cup finals last year. That counts for something.
Holtby for me boss.

Dubnyk because he had a strong 2nd half and has a great chance to be #1 on a team that has nowhere to go but up.

Dubnyk is the only set #1 goalie in the list. No brainer.

Is he really though? I'm not so sure. I actually see Holtby & Dubnyk in similar situations this year...with Dubnyk perhaps having the lesser 'competition' since Neuvirth is still a young goalie trying to establish himself whereas Khabibulin is getting up there in age.
Probably shouldn't ignore the fact that Khabi could be fighting for a new contract elsewhere though. In any case, I voted for Dubnyk. |

Quote:
I do think that an old overpaid Khabibulin with no long-term plans in Edmonton has less of a chance to cut into the starter's minutes than a younger Neuvirth does.

You're right. In a league that counts only the regular season, Brodeur's playoff performance might be the thing that counts the most...
