hmm actually a bit of a tricky one, Grigs has that upside but is still developing, Schwartz has that combo of skill and leadership. I'd probably go with Schwartz, safe pick and still good upside, but I can see easily being talked into taking Grigs with his theoretically higher ceiling.

I picking Schwartz right now. I think this kid is a quality leader and a real character player who is the total package. Theres no doubt of Grig's potential for putting points on the score sheet but he has some obvious character flaws (obvious due to his fall during the NHL draft) that leaves me scratching my head over him.

I'm still blown away by people saying Grigorenko has character flaws. Has any of us ever met him? Sure, the scouts knew something that we didn't that caused him to drop a bit in the draft, but he's still an elite talent and not all scouts were convinced of these said "character flaws". Aren't all 18 year old kids still developing their character? He had mono down the stretch and his work ethic was questioned.... I'm voting Grigorenko because I'm a firm believer of the strategy that when drafting "fantasy prospect teams", you should swing for the fences and some say his upside is just as high as Galchenyuks or Yakupov.

That's unfortunate. Arguable the best player in the world at the moment (Malkin) is Russian. That should be enough motivation for Russian prospects (who furthermore moved to Canada at a young age to play in the CHL) to continue pursuing the NHL as well as quell any fears of him being a KHL flight risk.

Some escape the stereotype, others don't. Datsyuk is an example of a guy that is well regarded. But if Grigorenko falls a few draft spots (Forsberg did too), then he is has flawed character.
