I am also looking ahead to next season, as it's really up in the air if we will even get half a season this year. Drafting certain players that will benifit from an extra year, and are still under contract for a while, is what i was after. Since this years salary is still getting burned from what i hear.

I didnt want to be stuck going into next season with pricey rfa or ufa players. Especially if their is no hockey this year and I cant even use them.

but yes, after typing all that, i think dropping white for dumba is the way im going to go.

My biggest regret from this latest draft was not reaching for Dumba while I still had the opportunity.

Well, this season we held pro draft before the prospect/entry draft, so the firt 7 rounds were a mix between prospects and vets / young NHLers not already kept.

Dumba went in the final round of the pro draft, a few picks before I selected. I took Collberg because the stud prospect D-men and forwards were mostly off the board by the time we even got to the prospect draft. Mikhail Grigorenko was my first round selection, 12th overall.

Lesson learned.prospect draft will be first from now on.

I agree with this. Can't expect much out of any of those guys, except maybe MDZ (who's shown he's nothing if not inconsistent)

I feel more comfortable when I have at least one elite talent and then I can use the unproven guys as depth support rather than sinking or swimming on their immediate development.
