So, I've been offered Justin Williams and a first round pick for Luongo and a 7th (last) round pick in next years draft. There is a very very good chance that the first round pick turns out to be first overall as other than Crosby and Henrik Sedin, he has a very weak team. I would love to get a shot at Mackinnon.

I can spare the goaltending, and can probably package Neuvirth and a surplus RW or D for an upgrade on a third goalie later. My only concern is that it leaves me with 5 RW-only eligible players. However, Arkinson could easily be a drop as my team is a contender now.

Should I pull the trigger?

This makes perfect sense to me. Seems like you know in which direction you're headed. My first thoughts, yes you are set at (G) w/Quick & Schneider so Luo is expendable here. JW is a nice, serviceable depth winger. If you are certain that pick will be #1 or thereabouts, I'd pull the trigger on this one. I would consider keeping Atkinson, even over Erat or the often injured Williams. From what i'm hearing on the boards, Atkinson should turn out to be a good player, perhaps even seeing 1st line duties.

Normally I'd say no to giving up a quality goalie like Luongo, but with the depth you have in goal I think it's a worthwhile gamble.

Having said that... from a negotiating standpoint I think you should definitely push for a higher calibre player than Williams.

This is certainly not bad advice, either.
