Same deal for me with Bell and my work phone. If Im on call and want to do things downstairs I literally have to turn it on really loud and leave it in by bedroom. At least I get a work out running up and down

Ugh - I've got tv and internet through telus so going to call them at some point and look into what kind of deal I can get, though I'm not expecting much.

Will give bell/Virgin a call as well.

Based on what I'm reading on howardforums though, companies aren't offering much in the form of retention plans anymore, especially for smartphones.

Give Bell a good look! I was with Rogers or years (terrible service and customer service) and have been extremely happy with Bell so far. Any issue has been cleared right up by great customer service reps. Plus, you can get bell tv (5 or 10 a month or "free" depending on your package) and it includes NHL games! Nothing better than being in the road or at an appt and watching a game I wouldn't otherwise be able to see. Or I can use my Apple TV and stream them to my big screen when I'm at home. Extremely happy with Bell...

Yea, I'd like to go with Bell - just all depends on the kind of plan I can get.

Bell is doing fibre optic in Sudbury right now and my dad just switched his TV/phone/internet to them but otherwise from everything I've heard they have a terrible rep.

If you could stop making my decision harder by throwing in these negative reviews...

But don't worry, I'll accept a handwritten apology letter, as long as it's on a $100 bill.

back to the original question:

i work for telus. if cost is your primary concern and you live and generally stay in one of the major cities, i don't really see how you could say no to Wind. frankly their prices are ridiculous and probably unsustainable. great deal.

if you don't spend the majority of your time in the big centres and/or you think LTE is important, you're stuck with the big 3. i'd recommend telus, but the retention-number strategy discussed by others here is a good one. (i need to do this for my rogers tv - but ugh, i'm bad at it.)

Wind = no iphone... which isn't the end of the world but would prefer iphone. And while I generally stay in a major city, I don't want to lose coverage all over the place.

Telus employee eh? Any idea on a realistic package I could get for transferring to them?
