Hey guys, as you can see my RW is lacking pretty well, with only Yakupov, Wheeler and Havlat to go on. Byfuglien I don't count because I like rolling with only 4 D. I'm trying to get a trade going to get a right wing but also trade away Lehtonen for another goalie of similar value because I'm worried about all 3 of my goalies being in the WC. It's not a huge deal to me, I would just like to add a little variety.
Anyways, the point of all this is Radim Vrbada is sitting on the WW and I was thinking about picking him up and dropping possibly Havlat if I can't get a trade done. Do you think he'll have a really strong year like last year? Also other guys on the WW at RW include Jagr, Hotron, Hornqvist, Ryder, Bertuzzi and Doan as the most notable. I was wondering which direction I should take this in as I feel the only thing really lacking is my RW. Edit: As much as I don't want to, maybe I should trade Yak in hope that he under performs this season, and maybe someone would be willing to overpay for him? Just stuff to wonder about.

I like your RWs. I think you need to work on upgrading your LWs instead!
RW - Yakupov will be good, could be great. Year 1: 50 pts - Wheeler will continue to produce at that 65pt pace, assist heavy though - Havlat is a bandaid boy but still has prime years to produce at a point per game (or a little under) if healthy LW - Elias is not getting younger and with Parise gone, his output could very well drop - Datsyuk is one of the best (if not the best) players in the NHL. Fantasy-wise, he is not as good though (his dual eligibility with FW is an awesome bonus though) - Kunitz is a moocher, raking up points because he plays with Sid and Geno. He could be replaced at any time by a younger emerging player (a guy like Jeffrey could probably replace him). Don't get me wrong though, your LWs are good, but I prefer your RWs at the moment. Also, I would not touch your goalies as both of them are likely top-10 candidates for this year and the near future.

I'm not sure your current RW situation is as bad as you're fearing it to be. Do you realize that Wheeler ended the year with something like 28 points in his last 26 games? He also had over 100 hits and some good peripherals. And Havlat should rebound well this season. I don't see any of the WW guys as an upgrade, particularly not Vrbata, who gives you barely 50 hits and blocks combined, and who prior to last season had only scored more than 50 points once in his career. Jagr gives you literally no hits or blocks, and while he should produce well on the PP, his stats should be hurt by not having a guy like Giroux to play with and his age could make it hard for him to play well in a condensed season with more back to back games. Lastly, if you look at Ryder, he's now scored 30 goals 3 times, but he's never scored 30 with the same team more than once. He's a huge risk to score fewer points this year.

Your RW situation is fine. Havlat vs Vrbata is a lateral move. I disagree with the comment above that LW is a weakness. This is a one year league, not a keeper. Elias and Datsyuk will be very productive in this format, and Kunitz is roto gold.

I would not move Lehtonen for a forward upgrade unless it was significant.
Harding is half a goalie... you have to have two solid goalies to win most leagues. Hold what you have. I would look for an upgrade on Turris. Without Turris you've still got 4 guys that qualify at C, 3 at LW, 3 at RW (4 if you include Buff). I'd probably even consider a 4th goalie (a back-up) if you have daily starts. With SV being a category, it may be worth loading up a 4th. Otherwise, I'd look to grab another LW to replace Turris so that you have 4/4/4 player options at forward slots. |

agree with most of the above, lw and rw are not that bad.. i also think guys like jagr etc. on the free agency list are still good one year options.
