There is little chance you would get Backstrom or Miller for 5th overall. Give 'er a shot tho. There's quite a few players that I would give 5th overall for, including the ones you mentioned. I agree that a 2nd goalie would be a priority for you. Your defensive depth is lacking as well.

Its a tough question as to what to ask for as I dont know this guy at all. Prolly best to negotiate with the guy. Start with Miller or Backstrom and prepare to lower expectations on the reply.

What does your current team look like? Is there anyway for you to package the 1st with another player and upgrade to Miller that way? He's probably looking for a goal scoring forward as he is covered with almost everything else. Kessel will provide a lot of his goals, but after that it is thin.

If you are thinking Backstrom, I would be very, very happy to get Hall for a package with the 1st.

Those in red I might target with that 5th overall pick. Can't see the other GM giving up Backs, Sedin or Letang for that pick. I would try to offer your pick for Miller, Hall, Piets, Fowler and to a less extent Richards/Staal.

Well I got the "No not strait up" for Backstrom(was) or Miller as expected just waiting on a reply or counter offer.

I don't wanna give up too much as there are good goalies that will be available at my 1st (Kipper, Backstrom(Min), Rask).
