I am looking for some suggestions what people would offer to acquire the first overall pick, which would be Yakupov. Listed below is my team with updated salaries beside them. We also have to protect 13 before the auction/draft, if that would have any implications over who to trade. The scoring is in signature.

I think this is a tough fit for you. You have Ovechkin and then mostly unproven or undesirable players. Not exactly pieces I would be looking for if I moved the best prospect out there. Granlund+ could work, but it depends on how the other GM values the prospects.

Depending on the other team's needs, it'd be tough. Without knowing what the other guy needs, I'd ask for your third overall, Granlund and Nyquist. But that would be a massive overpayment. But that's what I would ask for.

Eric said pretty much what I was thinking as I started to scan your team. Unless this other GM would settle for a prospect like Granlund and a good pick (likely your 3rd OA) then I don't think you are landing that pick.

All is not lost though - you certainly have built a nice cache of picks for this season which should go to work for you and you certainly don't have any cap issues.

I'd be interested to see who you decide to protect here. Got some interesting choices to make.

The last two spots are tough for me. I was initially going to protect Bogo and I still am leaning that way but the surgery has scared me off a little, although with the lock out its giving me time! After that its between Mueller or Smith! Any suggestions other wise??

My bad Pengwin, he should be $20 (I updated all posts affected) even still I may be inclined to protect him!

Any other suggestions for the last spot if I indeed protected Bernier?
