Semi keeper multi-cat league, 14 teams keep 12 redraft 12. 9 Forwards, 6 defenseman and 1 Goalie in lineup at all times. I am rebuilding and traded the 5th overall, Michael Del Zotto and Travis Zajac for the 1st overall, Doug Hamilton and Micheal Neuvirth.

The pick will be Yakupov and i will keep Hamilton. Did i improve my rebuild?

with only 168 kept and only 1 goalie, i am not sure i would have kept mdz or zajac (almost for sure i would have dumped zajac).

Hamilton has more upside than MDZ, but really in a keeper it is close since MDZ is already producing and hamilton will take a few years, with the lock out it may matter a little less since a year of development will still happen for dougie.

The pick is a huge upgrade, and without knowing who your other keepers are, i would plot this one down as a win, but if you have an older core and should have taken another shot this year, it may pan out differently. Either way, you walk away with the best player in the trade (yakupov)
