Oh no question. It infuriates me to hear the announcers constantly coming down on these guys while on the air. Yes the calls have been terrible but it's not their fault!! Blame the league you work for fools!!

Really, the NFL is doing the marketing all wrong for these games. They should play up on these mistakes. Something like "You think we screwed up by giving the 49ers four challenges in a game, or making a game-winning TD on an obvious interception, but just wait until you see what we have in store next week. What game will we screw up? What playoff implications will we have? Tune in to find out!"
It'd be like watching a car wreck. People would tune to see if they could get worse.

Too bad the replacement refs are not a union. They could go on strike for the way they are being treated!

Div. 1 College football refs aren't doing these games -- they're busy enough. Where are they even getting these guys? (and girl -- I saw a female line ref the other day).

From different leagues. Some are high school, and I think one of them is even from the Lingerie Football League.

I drafted Golden Tate in the DobberFantasyFootball league.
Then I dropped him before this game. That is my comment. |

I suspected the only way they could justify this was calling it simultanous reception.
Looks like that's what they chose to do, with a little side-dish of distraction called "sorry we missed the real issue which was the offensive interference penalty." http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-sh...5380--nfl.html It makes sense they would take that stance, because interference penalties are missed all the time, even by good officials. So this way, they can say "sure, the Packers got screwed, but they could have just as easily been screwed by the real referees. I can only imagine how many Sport Select players were punching walls after Green bay failed to cover their spread because of this epic officiating blunder. |

IMO, this is the best view of the "touchdown":
http://cdn2.sbnation.com/imported_as...ium_medium.gif BTW, I'm from Green Bay. I wasn't born in Wisconsin, our family moved here six years ago. I am a Packer fan, but I won't lose any sleep over this. Bottom line is that if they played like men in the first half of the game, the game wouldn't have any chance to end on a hail-Mary toss-up for a scrub referee to decide. But yes, the town is in bedlam today as you can imagine as people almost literally live and die by "The Pack".
