Default Aoki v. De Aza - Final Move to Hold On

My 11.5 lead one week ago has shriveled to 3.5 with 10 days to go.

The standings look like this:

My roster looks like this:

I have one move left this year. Word is Peavy could be moved around to where he only gets one more start this year, and he hasn't been the best option lately anyway. I'm thinking that since I don't want to mess to much with my ERA and WHIP, am probably locked into where I will be in Wins, that I'd be best off to make that drop be Peavy and pick up Aoki or De Aza for the remainder to try to take a run at climbing the ladder in steals with Revere, Choo, Aoki/De Aza and Ellsbury, while Hamilton remains a question mark. Aoki seems hotter and sports the better OBP, another category where I really need to try to at least maintain my current position.

Do you guys like the Peavy for Aoki/De Aza swap? And which of the two would you go with? I'd sign either one to 2-years I think, so this would include an analysis of next year as well, I suppose.

Thanks in advance for all the help this year -- hopefully I can hang on!!

I would actually drop Samardzija for Aoki.

Good luck!

Well, Samardzija is signed for 3 years, and I only have 1 buyout year left. So, not only do I want to have the benefit of Samardzija going forward, but I also can only buyout 1 year guys. I didn't get into the keeper rules of the league. Contracts are:

Lucroy (3)
Fielder (3)
Kinsler (3)
Andrus (2)
Beltre (1)
Ellsbury (2)
Choo (1)
Revere (farm) (after 9/1 if we have a roster spot we can call up farm players for free)
Granderson (3)
Hamilton (3)
Seager (2)
Miley (3)
Lee (1)
Johnson (1)
Jansen (3)
Street (2)
Clippard (1)
Kershaw (5)
Hernandez (2)
Samardzija (3)
Garza (3) (he's off my roster on LTDL though)
Straily (3)
Peavy (1)

So, my only buyout options are Peavy, Lee, Johnson, Clippard, Choo, Beltre or I could swap Revere for someone. So, I guess here's a question.

Assume I buyout Peavy for Aoki. I could sign Aoki to a 2 year deal and basically have a fixed roster the rest of the year. Or, I could sign Aoki to 1 year deal and though I couldn't buy Aoki out, I could theoretically send Revere down at some point to sign another player to a 1 year deal if I need a final push on pitching stats or something. Is Aoki a good enough player that he should be owned next year for a bench player (would be behind Grandy, Hamilton, Ellsbury)? Or is the added flexibility for this season to crucial to take away by signing Aoki to 2 years?

thanks for the thoughts!

Okay that makes sense, just drop Peavy for Aoki.
