Is this guy ever going to get a shot?

I would think, looking at LA's lineup, that what he needs is a trade. To be effective he needs a top-six role - will Sutter give him a shot or is he going to get fed up and head back to Russia (if he doesn't get moved)?

You're likely correct that with the current roster in LA, Loktionov will not get a top 6 opportunity which he does need in order to be successful at his game.

Especially with the current lockout situation, It seems quite likely that he may sign a KHL contract and perhaps remain in Russia.

I don't see any team looking at this guy and actively pursuing him in a trade either.

With the way the Kings are built he really is getting the Red Wings treatment. I think he'll find his way up the roster eventually. Justin Williams, Dustin Penner and Simon Gagne are not exactly world beaters on the wing.

I'm sure the fact that he's a natural center and hasn't exactly adapted to the wing all that well is another factor in his slow climb to possible relevance.

I don't think he needs to be given a top 6 role to succeed.

He has a good overall game that can be utilized in many different situations. In order for him to succeed in fantasy hockey however, a top 6 role is ideal.

If he's stuck at center then he'll have trouble climbing a lot of depth charts. Teams are generally deeper down the middle.
