Default Embarrassment of riches. Who to keep???

Hey,

In a few down years I've been able to nab a few stars after off years or before they really lit it up. They got me the tittle last year but this year I'm a bit torn on who to keep.
Our stats are g,a,+-, ppp, pim, shp, sog, hits, gwg, blks in Roto format.

I must choose 5 of the following (6th is Rinne in net) : Malkin, Ovechkin, Giroux, Parise, Kovalchuk, E.Staal, Kesler, Hartnell, M. Koivu.

The top3 spots are a lock but I think there is some though to be made over the final three spots.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

G

that's a crazy roster.

Malkin, Ovy, Giroux, Parise, Kovalchuk.

If there's any way you could package one of Parise or Kovalchuk and any number of your non keepers to snag a Stamkos or Crosby, then that's the move. A Parise Koivu package with Staal on the side is a rich offer especially if the Stamkos or Crosby owner has a shallow keeper pool

I would go with:
Malkin
Ovechkin
Giroux
Kovalchuk
Hartnell - With Hits and PIM, Hartnell is gold

- I know with the cats that Hartnall is useful, but you have players far more skilled to keep over him. You can fill those cats with others. I feel both Staal and Parise should help a little with those. I think they both have more sandpaper to their game and better linemates surrounding them than K-Chuk.

I agree with One87 - with Ovy, Parise and Staal you have three of the top SOG guys in the league (with decent peripherals for Parise and Staal) - this lets you grab a guy like Ott later on who had poor SOG but brings the grit you need (preferably you can grab Brown of Callahan). You probably can't go wrong subbing in Kovy for Parise but I would keep Staal.

You have to go with Malkin, Ovechkin, Giroux, Parise, Kovalchuk (with Parise out of there Kovie will step up even more) & Rinne.

The Parise Kovie tandem nearly won me the SHP cat last year so it's a tough pair to ignore. Next to perry Hartnell may be the best mulit-cat guy in the league. Is it harder to replace the peripheral stats like hits and Pims and keep all the skill guys or is it better to keep the skill and draft spe******ts for pim, sip, blks etc??

Thanks for the input.

Gotta keep the skill. Who knows what kind of year hartnell will have anyways? you can draft similar guys like brown callahan lucic backes etc... without burning a keeper slot
