For my last keeper I need to decide between the four listed parents.

My current keepers are: Stamkos, E. Staal, Benn, P. Kane, Letang, Rinne

With those categories I think I'd keep Ward. Luongo is good but who knows where he'll end up and the age difference with Ward is big in a keeper. Ward may have a few years yet where he doesn't put up stellar stats but he'll always be good and once that team improves he will be great - he could even do great as early as this year.

You've got enough forwards to forego MaxPac and Moulson, even though they'd be pretty solid with those cats (especially MaxPac).

Agreed. Ward by a slim margin over Patches. Think Max is in for a few 40-40 seasons sooner than later. But can't argue w/Ward's consistency. He too is a gamer and on an improved team.

I agree with Ross that you want to be keeping one of those goaltenders - goaltending is a position of scarcity for the most part and with 3 of your categories representing 33% of the total, keeping a quality goalie makes the most sense.

Luongo will likely give you the better SV% and GAA but until he is traded, Ward will likely win out in the Win department. Age has to be a factor in a keeper if the players are close to being equal, but Luongo isn't old by goalie standards and I would not consider that to any great extend.

I like Ward a lot and I like his future but I think in this instance I would go with Luongo, because it is too damned hard to make up ground in GAA and SV% when Ward lays his occasional egg. However, if you opt for Ward, that isn't really such a bad thing. It may be easier to redraft Luongo than Ward - who knows.

I will only add that, with Rinne as your number 1, either Ward or Luongo are really the perfect number 2s. Either one can work. I still think Ward is your best choice simply because of age difference which probably already translates to greater trade value (I know I'd pay more right now to acquire Ward than Luongo in my league).

With Rinne and Ward, you have an excellent tandem, I have to imagine it would be the best or among the best in your league, you're fortunate in that regard.
