I'm having some indecision regarding my last 2 keeper spots.
It's a keep 7 league with 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 5D, 2G, 2Util.

So far I'm Keeping: Tavares, Backstrom(Wash), Hall, Ryan, P.Kane.

My remaining players competing for the final 2 spots are

Luongo
Schneider
Yandle
Edler
Enstrom
Datsyuk
Lupul (only interested because of LW/RW)
J.Staal

Right now I'm leaning towards grabbing a D and G, just to not be too far behind at these positions to start the draft.

I'm leaning towards keeping (Edler) and (Schneider) because I think I could draft Yandle easier.

What think ye? Is there a player out there that you would pick first come draft time?

Is there a safest bet and a riskier pick here?

You can focus on drafting some some top D in the 2-4th rounds of your draft or whenever you start to see the "D rush" happening.

Okay, I agree.

I've had Datsyuk and Schneider as my last 2 for quite some time.

Just was wanting to place a feeler out there for how valued someone like Datsyuk is.

Now, would this change your decision; If I did keep Edler or Yandle.

I would be able to draft one of Getzlaf, Pacioretty, Marleau, or Duchene.

So in otherwords, would any of the 4 just mentioned be of more interest the Datsyuk.

This would change my opinion yes, I would take Getzlaf over Datsyuk.. I might be a minority here but Getzlaf is younger and has higher upside for the next few years.. Datsyuk you know you will get 70-80 which is nothing to sneeze at but Getzlaf could get you more.

I would definitely take this deal if it was Edler + Getzlaf vs Datsyuk.

If you aren't garenteed to get Getzlaf then I would keep Datsyuk.

Well I'm not sure how this all works out actually, but hell yes, if you have a choice of drafting Getzlaf because you protect an elite D (Yandle or Edler) instead of Datsyuk, that'z the way to go. You could even make an argument for Maxpax or Duchene, but Getz is a no brainer. Dats is hall of fame, but he is slowing down, look at the numbers over the last two years. This is normal, it is to be expected. I have him at 67 pts this year, next year a further decline. Getz should easily surpass 67 and as I said, Pacioretti and Duchene could concievably hit 65+ too. Given the opportunity, getting younger with a stud like Getzlaf, well, hell yes.

I have first pick in the draft...and I know that Getzlaf is not being kept. So I figure if I keep Edler that I'll pick Getzlaf as my first rounder. It's also conceivable that I could keep Datsyuk and Schneider as my last 2 picks and also get Getzlaf during the first round. I guess the concern is that neither Datsyuk or Getzlaf are proving to be 82 game players, and missing out on a couple top 5-10 Defensemen in Yandle and Edler may be costly. But I guess that is fantasy hockey!

I also can't imagine dropping Ryan. He's been such a steady 30+ goal scorer for me over the years and I believe he'll drop forty...if only that old finnish guy would retire already. Love Selanne, but how long can they hold Ryan off the #1 PP.
