Default Second Year $30 Limited Keeper Looking for One

Rules
League Features

1. Yahoo Hosted Money League
2. 14 Team Rotisserie Style with 25 man rosters which include a 4 man prospect team.
3. Majority vote every two years on whether to increase entry fee
4. Only players listed by yahoo are eligible to be drafted or rostered
5. $30 dollar entry fee for 2011
6. Top four teams each season finish in the money

Rules and Regulations

1. This is an ongoing pool. This means that the players you choose in the first draft could feasibly be on your team in the year 2020. Everything possible is being done to ensure that everyone in this pool is extremely knowledgeable about hockey, and extremely serious about hockey pools. I dont want people quitting after three years just because theyve done poorly. Suck it up and rebuild. Sure it costs money, but its not about the money, its about fun (and bragging rights).

2. Entry fee is $30 per year. This must be paid on or before draft day. Exceptions need to be arranged with me beforehand, and SOME leeway will be given in extreme circumstances.

3. Every two years, the owners will review the entry fee. Only by majority vote, will the fee be increased. (A vote GREATER than 50% of the owners, meaning 8 plus)

4. No refunds, obviously.

5. Ideally, everyone will be in this pool for decades, but there will be times when people quit. When this happens, anyone interested in joining the pool will submit bids to me, via email, by a deadline.

6. Every year, prior to the draft, owners can submit proposals for rule adjustments or additions. A vote of greater than 50% would pass the proposal.

Awards / Prize Money

1. 14 owners x $30 per owner = a pool for $420
2. First Place - $200, Second Place - $110, Third Place - $70, Fourth Place - $40

Drafting

1. The draft will occur via live draft on yahoo on September 24th at 9:00 PM CST.
2. To decide the order of the very first draft (2011) draft, numbers will be chosen randomly via yahoo. The draft order will then go 1 to 14, 14 to 1, 1 to 14, etc, until all roster spots are filled. Subsequent drafts will go in the order of finish in the regular season from placed 5-14. The last four teams will be in a lottery system for the top spots in the draft. The teams finishing 10th or better will draft in order. The draft will consist of a pro style draft each round. 14-1,14-1.

3. Each subsequent draft will consist of thirteen rounds. Pending picks will be added based on number of prospect keepers kept.

4. Players from the preceding draft class are eligible to be drafted only if they are listed on yahoo.

Trading

1. Any assets may be traded at anytime during the year. Assets are players, and draft picks. 2 for 1 trades, 3 for 1 trades, 3 for 2 trades, etc are all legal.
2. There are no trade limits
3. No trades can be made from 9:01pm on the day of the NHL trade deadline, until midnight (12am) of the day that the Stanley Cup is won. However, there is UNLIMITED trading from midnight of the day the Cup is won, until 5pm the day of the draft.
4. Buddy trades will not be accepted. If anyone believes that a trade is FAR too lopsided, they may lodge a complaint with me. If that complaint is seconded, a vote will take place. A vote of 75% or greater will be sufficient to nullify the trade. THE COMPLAINT MUST BE LODGED WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE TRADE. Owners win deals and lose deals - it happens. Sometimes owners lose deals badly. This rule is in place only for extreme situations. It is to prevent two friends from stacking one of the teams and splitting the prize money. It is also to prevent an owner who is planning on quitting the pool at seasons end from helping someone out by giving them a deal.
5. Three way deals are acceptable
6. Trading is permitted between teams up until the actual NHL trade deadline; at that point the rosters are locked.
7. Any trades involving draft picks must be even (IE 1-1, 2-2, 3-3)

Rosters

1. Rosters consist of 15 standard roster players and four prospect team players plus six bench players. Draft position is based on your finish from the season before. 3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 4D, 2G, 4 Prospect UTIL, 6 Bench, 2 IR
2. Position eligibility is determined by yahoo
3. The prospect team will consist of 4 players who have played less than 150 NHL games, or less than 75 as a goaltender. These prospect players will earn your team points during the season.
4. A minimum of one prospect team player must be a defenseman
5. Prospect team goaltenders will be treated as standard roster players during the regular season, but will count as prospect team players for keeper purposes. (simply based on yahoo scoring interface). This means you may keep a goalie from year to year as a prospect player, but you cannot then also keep four skaters. You will keep four prospect players total

6. Owners will be allowed to keep UP TO 4 prospects yearly.

7. Waivers and Free Agency will follow yahoo rules

Scoring

1. This league is rotisserie style (see Yahoo for more information) with cumulative stats throughout the regular season only.
2. Rankings are on a scale of 1 to 14 in each of the 10 categories (6 Skaters, 4 Goalies).
2. The points you receive for each category are based on your rank.
A. If you finish first, you receive 14 points, second 13 points, and so on, until the last place team receives 1 point.
B. If there is a tie in any category, the teams receive the average points for all tied positions. If there is a tie for first (between two teams), each team receives 11.5 points ((12+11)/2). If there is a tie for first (between three teams), each team receives 11 points ((12+11+10)/3)).
2. Because there are 14 points per category and 10 categories, the maximum number of points a team can earn is 140.
A. For Skaters: Goals, Assists, +/-, Hits, Power Play Points, Shots on Goal
B. For Goalies: Goals Against Average, Save Percentage, Wins, Shutouts

Keepers

1. Each owner will be allowed to keep their entire prospect team (skaters must have under 150 games NHL experience, goalies must have under 75. This could either be four skaters, or three skaters and a goaltender, or any combination up to four players.
2. Owners will keep 8 of their players on a yearly basis, thus each draft will consist of thirteen rounds.
3. All four prospect players may be kept from one year to the next. An owner does not need to keep a prospect player into his third season if the player surpasses 150 games played, because a player will either be released or become a standard roster player at game 151.

Violation of Prospect Rules

Owners will be given a one week grace period once a prospect reaches 150 games played. All prospects will be listed on the prospect tracker forum, meaning owners will have ample notification when a prospect gets near 150 games.

- If an owner violates the one week grace period, the owner shall have their last draft pick be moved to the final pick of the round. The player in violation will be moved to the bench and the UTIL position will remain vacant.

- If after one week the owner is still not in compliance, and places the player back in the UTIL spot the player will be released from the roster. The owner will have their final three picks moved to the last pick in the round.

- If an owner violates the prospect rule for the third time, they will lose two prospect spots for the remainder of the season.

- If the same owner violated the prospect rule for the fourth time all their picks will be moved to the final pick in the round, all four prospect spots will remain vacant for the remainder of the year.

- If an owner violates the prospect rule within one month of the end of the season in order to finish in the money the owner's finishing position will be locked into place before the repeated violation.

Other

1. Expansion will be voted on every second year and need a majority vote to pass (8 plus votes)
