Default What D to build around? long term keeper

I only have 2 defence entering the draft Karlsson and Big Buff! I kept then traded Keith. I am looking to add a d with my first pick. We count G,A,+/-,hits,ppg,ppa,shp

Top picks include beleow. Who ever I take will be a keeper so I looking this year and the next.

Suter
Del Zotto
Brian Campbell
Boyle
Enstrom
Gologoski

Thanks

YOu have to go with Del Zotto I think...

+ 20 last year ( should even be better in 2012-2013), he is clearly the top PP QB by far and the addition of Nash will just help

He had 156 hits witch is 2 per game ( not bad).. he is the safer

I think Enstrom is better offensively but my choice will still be Del Zotto

Enstrom not far behind.

1. Enstrom
2. Suter
3. MDZ

In that order. Enstrom is insanely underrated and is a serious 50-55 point threat moving forward. I had my doubts about him in Winnipeg, but after watching him last season, those doubts have vanished. Suter could be an all-around stud in Minnesota but with Spurgeon, Dumba and Brodin, you don't know if he will supply the main offense long-term. Del Zotto is an emerging offensive stud but I am not 100% sold ... yet. If he does it again this year, I could be sold.

Campbell and Boyle are long in the tooth and Goligoski is a one-trick pony playing for a team who is struggling to find their true identity. I wouldn't consider these guys.

I agree with everything fungchen3 said. Enstrom is the clear top choice for me. Suter and Del Zotto are in the picture, but they are a definite notch below Enstrom, in my opinion.

My opinion is exactly the opposite - that Enstrom is a notch belong Suter and MDZ with these scoring categories. He may be the most gifted offensively but when you include hits and +/- and ppp then he drops like a stone.

Sure thing is Suter I think but MDZ has the potential to be a stud in this league so you need to make a call as how much you want to roll the dice.

I like Suter with these scoring cats, and I think Minny is going to be much improved (in a fairly weak division) so his +/- etc should improve as the undisputed number one D on that team.

agreeing with the more recent guys, i'd say Suter has got to be ur guy.

he played over 26 min. a game last yr and will do the same in Minny

he'll get PP time just like last yr when he put up 25 PPP, and i'd say a PP with Parise, Heatley and Koivu is an improvement over a PP with Weber and pretty much Weber only. I'd expect another 25 PPP from Suter again this yr, to go along with 40+ points and a decent +/- (maybe about +10).

Del Zotto did have an amazing yr last yr ill give him that but can he repeat it? There's no way he's posting a +20 rating again, as he's never had a plus season in his career before last and even in the Rangers deep playoff run in 2012 he was a -4. Granted he'll be on an improved PP but he only had 14 PPP last yr anyway. If theres one thing ill give MDZ, it's that he does have an advantage in hits.

Both guys will put up similar PT totals but Suter has a much more proven track record and is more likely to repeat with his solid A,+/-, PPP, SHP.

If you think MDZ can even come close to a repeat of last yr, u should go with him, given his huge advantage in hits. But if ur like me and think Suter can repeat and MDZ won't, i'd go the safe way with Suter.

I agree with Fung. You want a LONGterm keeper, then, Enstrom is it, dude. Don't worry about having two Jets.

Yeah in points only leagues I love Toby Enstrom but in multi-cat leagues like this I dunno...his value drops as you introduce more and more categories.

If you're looking at multi-cat value and you're looking for someone to build around I think Del Zotto is probably your man.
