I've been trying to get the #1 overall pick out of this guy for awhile this summer. He is one of those owners that only wants youth and plans years ahead. He shot down Stefan Elliot, Lack and my #7 overall pick. My current offer of Skinner, #7 pick and a prospect might work "depending on the prospect." He might send back a Center since he has plenty. I'm looking at something like this, just wondering if I'm overvaluing Yakupov.
Team is in sig. Skinner, Elliot, #7 pick for Yakupov, Turris Skinner, Kuznetsov, #7 for Yakupov, Burmistrov etc prospects are interchangeable to some extent. Thanks for the advice, I was really high on Skinner so it's a tough call. Rep given for any advice.

I'm assuming you're super-high on Yakupov b/c a part of me really wonders why you're willing to give up Skinner. I own Skinner in my league and would be loathe to move him, so I understand your situation a little. In fact, I'm not really sure I'd want to move him and decent parts to get Yakupov.
That said, if your trade parter is really concerned about down the road, you're right in that you're going to have to give him a fairly significant prospect as well. In other words, Elliot or Kuznetsov are the likely choices from your roster (which is what you're proposing). Elliot might be the most likely given some of the glowing comments I've read regarding him on this site. Maybe your trade partner is of that mindset, too. Kinda wondering, as well, if you maybe need to ask for a lesser person in the second body (Turris, Burmistrov above) in order to get the deal done? |

I don't know. I think I would rather keep Skinner. If he really does like his prospects then perhaps something just with them like:
Kuznetsov, Elliott and the #7 just for Yakupov Depends on how much you want Yakupov really, perhaps add another prospect, but given you won in 10/11 I would want to keep Skinner for the proven production.

Personnally, I would keep Skinner.
I think his value is bound to go up big time next season. Adding Elliott, a nice prospect with some opportunities in Colorado and the 7th pick seems a bit too much to me. Yakupov has lot of hype around him, for good reasons, but I'm not sure he'll be so much better than Skinner in the future. I also see that you were champion 2 years ago... If you still have a shot to win, then clearly keep Skinner. EDIT: for what it's worth, if you really want to chase Yakupov, Kuznetsov will not cut it as a prospect to include... too much incertainty with him.

I'll rethink this one. I'll leave an offer on the table where he adds on Schenn instead of Turris and see if he bites otherwise just hang on to Skinner or offer a lesser prospect.

I like Skinner, but I prefer Yak who has the better size and linemates. Skinner is a tremendous talent and he's added some weight. However, the risk of concussion will always be there, unfortunately. I could bear giving up Skinner and the pick, and that's about it. I wouldn't do Skinner and Elliott, though.
