I'm in a keeper league which is salary capped. You are allowed $64 for your keepers and $75 after draft. I won last year so I'm selecting last in each round (non-snaking) in a 14 team roto league with the following stats: G, A, +/-, PPP, GWG, SOG, Hits, BlkS, W, GAA, Sv%, SHO with a 18 man roster (2C, 2LW, 2RW, 4D, 2G, 5BN and 3IR)

Here is my roster with salaries in parenthesis:
C: Crosby (8), Fisher (6)
C/LW: Datsyuk (8)
LW: Kunitz (4), Tanguay (1)
LW/RW: D. Brown (10), M. Michalek (1)
RW: Pomminville (5), Jagr (1)
D: Goligoski (2), Leddy (1), Hedman (1), Bogosian (1), McBain (1)
G: Byrzgalov (13), Elliot (8), Crawford (4), Holltby (1)

I have the oppurtunity to acquire Toews after the keeper selection:
I get (salaries): Toews (9), Fleischman (1), E. Johnson (1)
I give: Crawford (4), Pomminville (5), Fisher (6)

My issue is that this is after keeper selection and I go with the following keepers to stay under $64: (keeping Elliot and trashing my defense)
C: Crosby (8), Fisher (6)
C/LW: Datsyuk (8)
LW/RW: D. Brown (10)
RW: Pomminville (5)
D: Hedman (1)
G: Byrzgalov (13), Elliot (8), Crawford (4), Holltby (1)

dropping:
LW: Kunitz (4), Tanguay (1)
LW/RW: M. Michalek (1)
RW: Jagr (1)
D: Goligoski (2), Leddy (1), Bogosian (1), McBain (1)

or
dropping Elliot ($8) going with these keepers:
C: Crosby (8), Fisher (6)
C/LW: Datsyuk (8)
LW: Kunitz (4)
LW/RW: D. Brown (10)
RW: Pomminville (5)
D: Goligoski (2), Leddy (1), Hedman (1), McBain (1)
G: Byrzgalov (13), Crawford (4), Holltby (1)

dropping:
LW: Tanguay (1)
LW/RW: M. Michalek (1)

The other option for the trade which the owner was kicking around was my giving him Michalek not Fisher... which would be fine with me... I'd keep Elliot, drop Fisher and be able to keep a few more of my defense. However the other owner wants a C back in the deal since he's trading his #1 C (Toews)

So, unless I can get the Michalek deal would you keep Elliot or Goligoski/Leddy/McBain/Kunitz... maybe this is just a REAL dumb question but I've gotten burnt before in this league because I didn't have goaltending and it took literally years to climb back from some bad goaltending trades..... probably paranoid that all....

drop elliot - redraft him if you want - I like your plan B as it gives more depth. then do the Toews trade after the draft. You can maybe shore up your goaltending at the draft.
