Elliott isn't even guaranteed a roster spot in Colorado this season. The Avs have a top 6 pretty set at the moment....they're missing a player of Elliott's skillset which could help him, maybe he can push Zanon or O'Brien to the #7 slot, but as of right now I'd expect him to start the season in the AHL.

Of course that's a moot point, I'd take Elliott over Voynov any day. That's not a slight on Voynov I really like him but Elliott is consistently ranked as one of the best defense prospects for a reason. He'll get his shot be it opening night, 40 games in, or even next year, but he's the better choice here imo.

I have both Elliott and Voynov on the farm in a keeper league - you could pry Voynov away from me with the right deal but it would cost significantly more to get Elliott from me.

I've said it before, I think Elliott is Shattenkirk v2.0. If he can improve his defensive game, he will outperform Shatts.

Not to knock Voynov, but Elliott is the better fantasy defenseman.

I'll bet on Elliott. Looking at Colorado's D, three of them aren't even NHL calibre.
