Am I losing my mind? How is Stefan Elliott, a prospect with just 39 NHL GP of experience, getting ranked ahead of guys like Kronwall, Wideman, Giordano, Goligoski, Del Zotto, Burns, Ehrhoff, Visnovsky, Myers, etc?

Holy crap the prospect broner is raging!

In a 10-team league with limited keepers (the OP said he had Byf as a keeper, which implies that limited D are kept from year to year), you only want to have proven stud D on your roster. 10 teams x 6 D per team = 60 D owned. Top-2 D on 30 teams, and no more than that. Young D are notorious for falling short of lofty pre-season expectations... why take that risk on your roster? Let someone else make the mistake while you pick less-flashy-but-dependable vets.

Just one man's opinion.....

If you must know....I actually consider myself to NOT be one who gets boners from prospects...

My top ten list was in no paticular order..

Also keep in mind that most of my forwards will be keepers from year to year.. Adding a Young stub dman (unless he's a potential 40-50 point guy) doesnt seem worth it because year end most of my defense will be dropped..

My top Dmen for this upcoming year:

Michael Del Zotto
Niklas Kronwall
Alex Goligoski
Dennis Wideman
Brent Burns
Christian Ehrhoff
Mark Giordano
.....
Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Stefan Elliott
Jake Gardiner

OEL

are my favourites here

Elliott and Ellis should touch that tier in 2-3 years, not this year.
Visnovsky could surprise again... but he's a glass pony at this point.

Kimmo Timonen is a great darkhorse.
Old, undervalued, and the guy that will get a boatload of token assists on that PHI PP with Matt Carle gone.

Don't let Goligoski fall.
I really think he was hindered by Souray's presence. Every time I watched DAL play I saw Goligoski deferring to Souray's bomb instead of making a slick pass himself. The hands on the new DAL PP could be boss (Jagr, Whitney) and that could be a return to form for Goligoski's numbers.

I think Kronwall & I.White will be overrated.
The DET PP ran through Lidstrom. He feathered passes so well on that PP. I don't think it runs nearly as smoothly as we have all become accustomed too. Sure Kronwall has a laser-beam, but rocket shots have never been the staple that makes the Red Wing PP go.
