Not even close in my humble opinion. You've got a guy on an offensive team who is basically their go-to guy on the back end.
Also - having watched some Canuck games, wondering if anyone else notices this - Edler is great with the breakout pass! There are probably only 3-4 other guys in the league who do it as well as he does. He does a lot of things for that team that go un-noticed by most. Went off on a tangent there - thought I would pump a player I like. He's also a guy you can generally pick up a few rounds later in a draft. Kinda sad he doesn't really have a "name" yet....

Give me shattenkirk,
in his first two seasons he had 43 points in each season, edler had 20 and 37 points in his first two full seasons.both guys should get around 40-50 points with 50-60 points upside.

Shattenkirk will probably get a more favorable offensive role, while Edler will play with better players.
Points only Shattenkirk, everything else I'd take Edler.

I like Edler by a hair but the extra stats are pretty split - Edler wins the hits and SOG while Shatty could edge him out in +/- and PIM. All included, I would vote for Edler but this could go either way. Points are close but Edler will get a couple more goals.
