Nice comparison.

I think both are locked for 50-55ish this coming season...if healthy. Both top 6 mins and pp time.

I give the edge to the next MSL...mighty Ennis for better chance to achieve his potential and breakout season. He has the opportunity, skills and leadership qualities to lead BUF offensively.

In comparison to Stepan, he'll probably take the backseat in favour to Richards, Nash, Gaborik (when healthy) and even Kreider/Hagelin

My pick is Ennis in terms of reaching the 60-70pts upside/potential (imo)...down the road.

I like Stepan.

Richards is done one year of a 9 year contract, which is the crappy part of the situation. Nash/Gabby/Hagelin (correct me if I'm wrong) all lined up at wing exclusively last year, which is also where I believe Kreider slots in this year. Stepan has a great work ethic, and in such, I would say he is as close to having locked up a spot as second line C with Torts as you can get.

In Buffalo you have the Ennis/Hogdson debate for first line C. However, you also have Adam, Ott, Grigorenko and GIrgensons. Ennis could end up on the third line as early as the beginning of next season IMO.

The situation in Buffalo has be steering clear of Ennis at the moment, so long as he is the perceived favorite for first line C.

I like both, I'll give Ennis a slight edge.
Buffalo should have a little more grit now so that Ennis can do his thing.

Stepan lost a rung with the addition of Nash.

So, I voted for Ennis, but do like both.

Agreed here. Stepan has some roadblocks in front of him. Ennis for me.

I like them both as well. In fact I had them both, but traded ennis last year during my stretch run for the Championship. Anyone who has watched the Rangers a lot the past couple of seasons must know how much Torts loves the kid. He used him in all situations and he gets big minutes. I disagree that he moves down with the addition of Nash. In fact, I think the opposite.

I'd take Stepan this year for sure and for the future, though it's very close.

Pure skill, I'm going with Ennis. Have to love his second half numbers, which were close to a PPG. My concern is that if he indeed wins the first line center job, he will be facing the oppositions best players.

Stepan's next step is the 60 point plateau, which isn't bad. I just don't know if he could produce beyond that.

That being said, points totals should be quite similar, but I'm voting Ennis because of the better offensive skill set.

I'd take Ennis by a hair. I think both of these guys will have pretty similar projections though.

I am going with Ennis, and I do not even think it will be close. I am going out on a limb and predicting 70 points in 82 games (pending lockout) for Ennis and 50-55 for Stepan.
