I think for sure you have to take Peterson and Jackson. The others I'm not able to decide on.

Peterson and Jackson are the clear standouts. If I had to pick two others, i'd go with Brown. He should be in for a big year. It's only like his 3rd season in the league. He's also way younger than McG, too. He'll account for a lot of the Colts offense going forward. My other keeper would be Nelson because he's at minimum the #2 option. Hell, it looks like he's becoming Rodgers' favorite target.

Weird rules for that league, glad you posted them! Of that group, I take Peterson, DeSean Jackson, Jordy Nelson and then probably Bradshaw over Lloyd but it's close

Default DJax value

Thanks guys for the responses!!

Here was my order before I made this post:
1. AP (no brainer here)
2. Nelson
3. Lloyd
----
4. DJax
5. Bradshaw
6. Brown

It appears the majority of people are really high on DeSean Jackson though and actually rank him as #2, which surprised me a bit. To me, he's a bubble keeper for me. I wasn't impressed with his work ethic last year, consider him the #2 WR after Maclin in Philly, and he has a QB who is extremely injury-prone.

Why is it that for some of you he'd be ranked ahead of a guy like Lloyd who has strong ties to McDaniels in NE plus he has Brady throwing him the rock or Nelson who outperformed Jennings last year?

One87 - I also like Brown this year but since he's unproven I'm not sure I should keep him. If I really want him I could probably draft him for value as I don't think someone will blow an early pick on him (his ADP is relatively high)

DM - I don't have McCoy, but wish I did

Thanks again for the responses everyone

For me, it's just that Lloyd is 31 years old and has to share the ball with Welker, Gronk, Aaron Hernandez and all the other RB & WR. Granted Brady will outpass Vick by 1000 yards (maybe 2000) so there's more opportunity but the mouths to feed are significant. Plus, on top of that Lloyd has had major injuries himself the past few years. His upside is really good, but if I had to choose between aging Lloyd in a crowded field or DeSean who even in a down year last year produced almost 1000 yards and I'd bet Jackson the better bet to go 1100+ yards and 7+ TD's. Really the difference between Jackson and Lloyd may be as little as 50 yards and 1 TD, they aren't far off in what they can do - so age 25 vs. age 31 with injury history...

Let me put it another way...

DeSean has 4096 career receiving yards + 378 career rushing yards for a total rushing/receiving of 4,474 yards.

Lloyd has 4,784 career receiving yards + 1 career rushing yard for a total of 4,785 yards. That's a clearcut 311 more than Jackson.

The difference is DeSean has put up his yardage in 4 years (60 career games) and Lloyd has 9 years (110 games). I know the Lloyd and McDaniels connection (Lloyd's career year) but it looks a little flukey to me and not something I'd bank on. At the right price, I'd love to have Lloyd, but I think DeSean is the safer bet to go career year.

That's just my .02 - both are quality starters this year for sure.

That's cool. If he has a strong year, it kinda changes when Brown gets picked, though. As far as being unproven, yes. However, he showed signs toward the end of last year. It looks like he is picking up where he left kff. And if you can run on Pit's defense, preseason or not, you're doing something right. He was also trapped behind Addai. Lloyd should have a solid year as well. From a keeper perspective, i'm looking at age as well as his role in the team. At best, Lloyd is #2 receiver. He's likely 3, behind Gronk and Welker. Lastly, I wouldn't keepa WR over Brown. That position is simply too deep. You can find another wide real easy. Good luck.

I don't know what I read, must've confused him with McGahee there lol.

I'd keep Lloyd in that spot, those keepers are looking good!
