Default Players in for a down year

Who do you think is in for a down year this year?
Who do you think might not do so good but next year will be much better?
(Skaters or goalies)

For Forwards, I predict Kessel, Elias, Hossa, Whitney, Thornton, St Louis, Sharp, Lupul, Ovechkin, Prospal will all have less production this year.

For D, Karlsson, Campbell, Chara, Boyle, Streit, Wideman, will all have less points. I don't expect Karlsson to have a horrible year, just that he won't repeat another 78 point season.

For Goalies, Rinne, Smith, Elliott will have a tough time reproduction what they did last year.

You expect Ovechkin to go even lower than he already did?

Yes I do. I know that I am in the minority here, but when I watch Ovechkin play now (I did watch a lot of Wsh games last year), I see a broken player. It makes me sad, but I honestly think the days of 50 goal and 100 point seasons are done for OV. I hope that I am wrong, but I don't think that I am.

I think the Sedins are in for an off-year. Spezza will come back down somewhat. Max Pacioretty as well. Those would be my top guesses.

Loll ,VERY LAUGHABLE. are u SERIOUS? So i guess Corey Perry sucks as hell, Getzlaf, marleau that also had a down year couple years ago when he got 48.Iginla the year he got 96 in 2002 was followed by a 67 season,in 2007 he got 98.. last year 86 and Iginla is not even comparable to Ovie. Ovechkin is a elite player. Just because of a 65 season ****ing mean nothing. He will get back to 80+ point, i say 90+. And hes still so young. No way he gets worse in 2012-13. And u say he will never get back to 50 goal season when he got 38 in a down year. Come on....

Another example kovalchuk when he got 60 his first year as a Devil

Look to be wrong Rylant.

Wow. Can't give an opinion like this without getting laughed at and disrespected? Dude, don't be a dick. You want to have an intelligent discussion about it, and I am willing to do that; don't fling shit though.

Interesting. In my opinion, Ovy is such an emotional player. He won the gold with Russia after this last season and he was glowing when he was walking around laughing with the trophy. That might be enough to give him a spark for next year. I think the coaching change and Semin leaving town might be other important factors. Oates has done good things where he's been so far with the offensive guys and he dished it to one of the best triggermen ever in Hull. About Semin, he and Ovy were VERY close off the ice, almost to the point where they would isolate themselves more and more. Remove Semin and Ovy's forced to be one of the guys again, which is something that I think could only help.

Then you have outer factors, such as powerplay opportunities dropping league-wide and whatnot. I think Ovy gets back with a rekindled spark but because of the league stuff he won't break 100, at least not next year. But I don't think he'll be 60s low again. But hey, who knows...

No doubt about it. You can't deny his passion. You can't deny his talent. Unfortunately,he has ZERO creativity. He CAN pass the puck well, he just chooses not to. He has two moves; go wide and try to beat the defenseman, or cut short across the middle. People know how to stop him. I think he draws attention away from the team. Last year was his worst statistical year, and the year before that was his second worse statistical year. He has had no significant injuries over those 2 seasons.

I HOPE Oates can help. I HOPE the departure of Semin can help. I HOPE Ovechkin can turn things around and return to his former glory. I think that something needs to change in Ovechkin in order for that to happen, though.
