I'm gonna stand on the side of not making the deal, for some of the reasons that others have stated above...just something to add on top though is I just want to say this.
Right now, you're rolling with Luongo/Schneider/Backstrom/Holtby in a 12-team league where a decent chunk of your categories are goalie categories. That means you've got an elite goalie tandem, and two goalies that are also essentially in tandems of their own. Let's say Backstrom is a 1A while Holtby currently is a 1B. So with what you've got now, you're securing all of Vancouver's starts for the near future, which will probably be pretty solid starts, while having the good option of rolling Backstrom and Holtby out on occasion to pad your stats. The beauty of it is, if you hang onto the goalies you've got now, if Luongo is dealt you now have 2 great starters along with a 1A and 1B...giving you more leverage...not to mention Luongo's value is pretty low right now to begin with. I personally think by holding out you could see a much greater return down the road...and for the time being will give you peace of mind that you're not entering the season with three halves of three tandems. My two cents. |

but it's true, Luongo's value should sky rocket if say he gets traded to the Hawks

Luongo should have good value regardless of his current situation. It can only go up once the current situation is settled. I suggest you wait it out dude, that will maximize your returns with whoever you move. You may very well want to hang onto Luo in the end.

Update:
Got an offer of Voynov + 2013 1st round pick for my Backstrom. Would you counteroffer for S.Elliot instead of Voynov?

I wouldn't do either of those deals personally, I'd want more for my goalies than unproven prospects and a pick.

Agreed. This is a terrible deal for you.

Would this other trade be better?
My Luongo for His J.Bernier + 3rd overall prospect pick Bernier is a top goalie prospect (if he ever gets traded from LA) and I could draft one of Grigorenko, Forsberg, Reilly, Silfverberg, Schultz He also has Doughty, Subban (MTL) and E.Johnson as Dmen.

Why would you even consider these deals. They're all unproven guys you'd be getting back.
The best offer you got was the one that involved Evander Kane and Neuvirth. |
