Maxim Shalunov - 6'3", 185lbs winger, property of Chicago Blackhawks. Many on this site, myself included, are high on Kucherov. Hockey's Future had him rated ahead of Nikita and as the top rated Russian prospect heading into the 2011 draft.

http://bruins2011draftwatch.blogspot...10-11.html?m=1

Keep in mind, when this was written, he was 17 year old kid, so it's not too surprising that a kid with his offensive skilk-set needs to learn the importance of playing defense.

"Maxim Shalunov, RW Chelyabinsk (Russia)-- If potential were all that counted, this power forward would be near the top of every draft list. He's big, can skate pretty well and has the soft hands and wicked shot to be a force on each shift. Unfortunately, he lacks competitive drive and tends to be invisible when the games matter most. Still, he cracks the top-10 because he's one of those players who, if the light ever comes on for, look out. At 6-3, 190, he's going to get bigger and stronger. When the puck is on his stick, he's someone to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, it's that other nagging aspect of having to play effectively when you don't have the puck that's Shalunov's biggest hurdle to cracking the top-60 in Minnesota."

" Shalunov impressed recently in the Subway Super Series held in Canada. He would have to be characterized in that series as the best Russian forward along with fellow Russian forwards Nail Yakupov,Mikhail Naumenkov and Andrei Sigarev all having 4points with 2 G and 2A."

Frankie Corrado just exceeds expectations everywhere he goes. I saw a couple positive reviews about him this summer, citing that he is much better than his junior stats indicate. Now he is at the WJC camp and already beat out Derrick Pouliot and Adam Pelech.

lots of good lists here.
some guys i was thinking of are ;

alexander radulov- in the slight chance he comes back he'll put up good numbers.

rick dipietro- in the sleight chance he stays healthy he could put up decent numbers on an ever improving islanders team.

guys like these rarely get picked up- for good reasons. but in the last rounds in deeper pools a lot of guys picked may never make it anyways. so take a chance on guys like these. could be a late gem.

I run an intense 20 team league. Each team has 20 prospects. Mr. Carrado got the attention of one of the GMs in my league. I'm sure he will eventually fo the same in other leagues.

The one where I picked him up is the league in my sig. It's the type of league where tons of dmen have value because they can contribute in so many ways. Corrado seems to me like a guy who could play heavy minutes at both ends and bring some toughness to the table. All good stuff for this format.

My other league has a prospect draft soon-ish. He could be a late rounder for me although if he makes Team Canada he could be an early enough pick by a guy reaching for the flavor of the week.

Dipietro hasn't even been good when healthy since (arguably) 2008. I have zero faith in him doing anything relevant. I would rather take a chance on a bubble prospect like Zatkoff.

I've read a lot of good things about Matt Grzelcyk lately. Small but lot of skills and upside.

I was watching Miami (OH) vs OSU hockey on BTN last night. One guy who who really impressed me was a guy named Austin Czarnik. He was draft eligible last year and was passed over (probably due to size - hes only 5'08) but man this kid can fly and isnt afraid to throw what little bit of size he has around.

I'm not sure if he counts, but one guy I've been scooping up is Tim Thomas.

He's probably been dropped in most leagues. He got dropped in one of my leagues (not long after I traded Thomas for a package including Holtby + Strome) and I scooped him back up for free, haha.

Thomas said that he was only taking the year off. It is very possible that he comes back with a vengeance. I read here somewhere that Detroit would be a great fit for both Thomas and the Wings. I think that he would bring some great value for any fantasy team that could use the goaltending.
