Default Just finished my 1st draft - how did I do?

Here's my team (along with the round I drafted each player in)....

Starting Line-Up
QB - Michael Vick (3)
RB - Arian Foster (1 - 2nd overall)
RB - Frank Gore (6)
WR - Brandon Marshall (4)
WR - Hakeem Nicks (5)
WR - Torrey Smith (8)
TE - Jimmy Graham (3)

Bench
QB - Tony Romo (9)
RB - Doug Martin (7), Benjarvus Green-Ellis (10), Ben Tate (12)
WR - Malcom Floyd (11), Terrell Owens (13), Randall Cobb (14)

I feel like I've backed up my injury risks (Foster with Tate; Vick with Romo; Gore with a starters in BGE and a potential starter in D. Martin). Even though Smith, Floyd, and Owens have upside I think a weakness is my WR#3 - I passed on guys like Austin Collie, Reggie Wayne, Eric Decker, Pierre Garcon who could've been my WR#3 in round 7 to draft Doug Martin as I got news that Blount left tonight's game with an injury (which apparently isn't as serious as it was first made out to be) so I'm kind of regretting making that pick and not solidfying my #3WR.

What do you all think of my team..is my WR3 as bad as I think it is?

I hate your team to be honest, I have never seen a worse team...... HAHAHA, just jokes buddy. Your team looks really solid.. You have a stud at every position..

QB: Vick(if healthy will be a stud, but not to worry as you have Romo aswell)
RB: Foster(going to get major touches)
WR: Marshall(the go to guy in Chicago!!)
TE: Graham(will be a monster this yeaer)

I also like Nicks.. I would consider maybe seeing if anybody would like Gore, I just feel he is getting a little worn down and won't get as many touches this season. Obviously I could be wrong, but thats just how I feel..

Default That team

is pretty sick, to be honest... I think Gore is on your bench and Doug Martin a starter, but we'll know more about there roles in a few weeks.

Cobb over Torrey Smith I'd guess also, but again - play matchups there all season and you'll be fine.

You may want to try to trade Romo + Terrell Owens or BenJarvus for a Matt Ryan or Philip Rivers type - I like Romo for production, but he's usually injury prone and with Vick also injury prone I might like a better QB backup 'just in case'

Otherwise, that's a crazy good team

Default Do you like any of these players over Owens/Cobb/Floyd?

Thanks guys! I'm going to get feelers out there for Gore (hopefully after he has a huge week 1 lol). This is draft 1 of 4 this year for me - really looking forward to the rest.

My next question is, the following guys went undrafted and are currently on the waiver wire:
RB - Kevin Smith, DET
RB - Jonathan Stewart, CAR
RB - David Wilson, NYG
RB - Pierre Thomas, NO
RB - Evan Royster, WAS
RB - Tim Hightower, WAS
RB - Ryan Williams, ARI
RB - LaGarrette Blount, TB
RB - Toby Gerhart, MIN
RB - Mike Goodson, OAK

WR - Danny Amendola, STL
WR - Steve Smith, STL
WR - Emmanuel Sanders, PIT
WR - Alshon Jeffery, CHI
WR - Josh Gordon, CLE
WR - David Nelson, BUF
WR - Jacoby Ford, OAK
WR - James Jones, GB

So what do you think. Do you like any of those guys up above over Owens, Cobb, or Floyd?

None of those WR are worth your time - but wow I wish you could fit Royster, Stewart AND Ryan Williams on your roster and I also like Kevin Smith and David Wilson quite a bit.

I think if I were in your driver seat I'd drop Owens and get one of those 3 RB (all have the same upside - from pretty good to dominant depending on the players around them and what role they end up with)

You could drop Malcolm Floyd and take the shot that Wallace will hold out and Emmanuel Sanders would be a stud #2 - but I honestly think Wallace is just posturing and will report in a week or so. Still, the upside whereas Floyd is pretty average-ish tells me Sanders > Floyd in the big scheme of things.

Heck, trade Gore for the best WR you can get and then scoop up a couple RB and your team is loaded and deep

Thanks Dyv, I was really thinking of dropping Owens for K. Smith given the fact he's really all that Detroit has right now at RB compared to the other guys where their situation is a little more cloudy - but now that you're giving the nod to Royster/Williams/Stewart over K. Smith I'm thinking otherwise now.

With respect to exploring a trade route, a manager has said to me that he wants a RB and expressed interest in Gore (or Foster) to me.

Here's his team:

QB - Matthew Stafford
RB - Trent Richardson
RB - Willis McGahee
WR - Calvin Johnson
WR - Brandon Lloyd
WR - Vincent Jackson
TE - Tony Gonzalez

Bench:
QB - Jay Cutler, Christian Ponder
RB - Beanie Wells, Rashard Medenhall
WR - Austin Collie, Titus Young, Laurent Robinson
TE - Kyle Rudolph

How would you formulate a deal here?

I'd watch T.O. If he doesn't make the Hawks or if he makwes the team and plays sloppy, scoop Jeffrey. I think Marshall is in for a big year and eventually get's doubled, freeing Jeffrey. The Bears wikk put up points this year. Forte has always been there, and now Brandon will stretch the field. Also, watch Ryan Williams because Beanie isn't the most durable guy.

Other than that, your team is solid!

My first thought is float Gore & Torrey Smith for Calvin Johnson at him - see if he's even close to that idea.

You can sweeten it more, honestly - but see who else on your team he likes besides Gore.

What makes me think this may work is he's said he's interested in 'Gore or Foster' so maybe he values them similarly?
