Dobber Sports Sophomore
Default Steve Downie

What's the consensus? Does he stick in a top six role with COL, perhaps with Landeskog and O'Reilly again? He looked unstoppable with those two until his injury. I imagine the PAP signing could hurt him, and his value goes way down if he finds the third line. Thanks for any thoughts.

Edit: Worth noting, I own him in a league that doesn't reward PIM.

I see him either sticking on a line with Dutchy and PA or staying with Oreilly and heading down to the third line playing 14ish minutes per game.

I think for the time being the fair assumption is that things will remain pretty status quo at least to start with the Avalanche. The chemistry on that team was pretty solid down the stretch, and Downie looked like he really clicked with Landeskog and O'Reilly.

The only problem though is that group is NOT in the top six on that team, at least from what I've seen. They are their third line that is relied on to play the tougher minutes.

Alot of it will rely on Duchene. If he picks his game back up compared to last year and stays healthy, OReilly and Downie will be put down to the third line so the Avs have a staz Dutchy Oreilly 1-2-3 center.
