Default Cam Atkinson-where does he slot in this year?

I'm thinking of making a play for him to get younger at RW, I have been offered Suter and Atkinson for Franzen in a league similar to my league in my sig.
My D is young and coming in a hurry it includes Voynov,Kulikov,Ellis,Shattenkirk,B.Smith,Justin Schultz,Orlov and Rundblad
My Rw are Giroux,Franzen,Tarasenko and K.Palmeiri
Do I really need Suter at the expense of 1 of my 2 proven RW'S? If Atkinson was a lock for 50 pts,I would do this in a heartbeat, but he is really an unknown at this point.Could he take the same road Patches in MTL took last year? O could he bust?
I don't think I need Suter, but starting 4 d a night,he would fit in nicely. And BTW,I probably am not in a competing position this year Unless Reimer turns it back around and holtby is the second coming lol
Sorry for the long post, but wanted to give the most info,so you can give me an educated analysis. Thanks

I would make that deal. Franzen will contribute in goals but he's sporadic and not getting younger, plus his constant nagging injuries limit his games played and at his age it's just a matter of time before the time missed per season gets longer and longer.
Atkinson is a special player (reminds me of steve "stumpy" thomas) He has all the opportunity now in Columbus and i see him running away with it (Breaks 20 G's).
You also get Suter who's value is high because of the trade. You can flip him again if u want in a package deal with another Vet for a young Stud

I would make this deal too. I'm a huge Ryan Suter guy. His value is up in the air away from Weber, but he will be undoubtedly the number one d-man in Minnesota, and the Wild are building a contender. I can assure you that Weber didn't make Suter look good (if anything, Suter allows his partner to look good). He's just hitting the prime of his career age wise and should put up big numbers for a long time. I like what I've seen from Atkinson as well and he could be a break out candidate this season. Franzen is obviously a nice guy to own, but with Detroit losing Lidstrom and starting to age in its core, they may not be as reliable for big points and plus/minus help.

Just my thoughts.

You would not get Suter straight up for Franzen in my league, so having Atkinson added is bonus itself. I like Atkinson and see 50-60 point potential this year.

Yeah I echo what all the other forumers have said, Franzen has that "name" factor, but at the end of the day with all of his injuries he's generally just a 60 point guy... Suter isn't a big points producer, but should still post a decent total. Atkinson is the kicker, now that a lot of the depth is cleared up, he could be in for a big year.

The trio of Atkinson, Umberger and Brassard were great to finish off the year, and I think they'll stay together this year. Definitely a sleeper candidate for me!

D is always a good position to have depth in. Because they're so dependent on their forwards for production, off years happen all the time, it's always good to have a backup plan in that position for off years.

Good deal to accept IMO.
