There is no reason to trade Gaborik unless the move makes some sense.. you are getting low balled because he is injured if you don't really want him on your team at least wait until he is playing again.. once he is playing his value will instantly go up. Plus if you're a playoff team Gaborik should be healthy when you need him to be.

I agree - don't deal Gabby for any of those offers. Might as well just leave him on your team and use him for the second half of the season + fantasy playoffs which is when dreams come to fruition anyways

Trading for the sake of trading is not a wise practice most of the time. Tends to make you accept trades that you shouldn't.

he could very well comeback for 60 games and score 30ish goals. Gerbe won't do that in 82.

In a 28-team league, starting 9F... that's 252 forwards in play.
The #252 forward scored 27points last year. Gaborik (#15) scored 76pts... basically representing a value of +50pts over waiver players. If he plays only half a year, his value will only be +25pts. THAT is the value you should be shooting for... a 52pt+ player (27pts+25). I'd ask for a 60pt player, because you also lose the value of Gaborik's future year (2013-2014). You DO have a good team, with a good shot to win (in a 28-team league). If it is full-year points, than it will be really hard to lose his value. I'd still consider holding Gaborik, it's fun to try to chase from behind. Last edited by Pengwin7; 08-07-2012 at 01:19 PM. |

Thanks guys. I've got a decent team. Got a $200 salary and right now I'm at 143. Both sedins, b Richards, st Louis, zetterberg, miller, bryz, kipper, Backstrom (min), streit, Boyle and gonchar are available in the free agent auction. Hoping to grab miller and maybe a sedin. See how that goes. Edited signature. Team up to date
