Lucic 28 goals, 60 pts, 130 pims last 2 seasons
Staal's top has been 50 pts (albeit in 62 games last year).

Tough decision, as I am weak at C, but Lucic would further supplement my gritty power forwards.

i dont know about overrated. I really haven't read too much on him, however for a first line LW he's not putting up 70+ pt seasons. could he get there, maybe, i like that he can be picked up most of the time later in drafts.

Frazen is a subpar performer.

I like Staal's position better than Desh. your wings are set, its just about how many multi cats you get in return.

cdubb,

It seems to me that the other GM has grand visions of pairing up the Staal brothers, however I think he is low-balling you a bit. Personally, you are already loaded up with grit on the wings and you need J.Staal more than Lucic. I'm pegging J.Staal for 65-72 points this upcoming season as I think he will breakout in a top offensive role with the Canes.

ok thanks. He ended up trading Lucic for Couture and picks. Yah, it's more realistic for me to target C's. I was just enamored with the idea of getting more g.uys with hits/pims who can score

I do like Lucic but I wouldn't trade J. Staal straight up for him. Staal has just been put in the best position scoring wise thats he's ever had in his career and your centres need more attention than your physical wingers do since you already have your wings well covered.

Hits are just one category, but G, A, P, +/-, PPP, GWG, SOG, FOW are all improved with a scoring C-man, so if you focus on improving any position centre would be it. Plus, J. Staal isn't exactly a push over in the hitting department anyway.

Well I did say per game and you're only looking at 3 stats here. I was basing this off of all of your stats.

Well he's traded Lucic now for Couture.

Would getting Couture and a first round prospect pick for Staal be worth it?

What place is that pick and what kind of prospect could you get with that pick.

He picks 6th, and I already have 1st overall (Yakupov). So could target 2012 draftees like Grigorenko, Forsberg, or previous undrafted prospects (Silfverberg, Schultz).

That would be worth it. You'd still have a talented young centre, plus a high end draft pick.
