Default J.Staal or Lucic

Hey

2nd team in signature, league counts hits/pims.

i had been offered Datsyuk and Lucic for my J.Staal and Franzen, but the guy changed his mind after asking for confirmation of the trade.

Anyway, would you trade J.Staal straight up for Lucic? My only concern is lack of top C, which is why i had asked for Datsyuk in original deal. I might be able to trade J. Staal straight up for Datsyuk also?

His only other C's are Desharnais, Hodgson, and E.Staal (whom he just traded for)

Thanks

Lovin yer wings in this type of league... with Hartnell, Callahan and Neal... the need for Lucic isn't a top priority compared to C... E. Staal might be a wing this year... I can see why he wants the brother tandem.

See if you can get Desharnais... he's small, but plays top line with Max Pac and those two are on the rise!

Thanks rep given.

I heard Neal might lose LW eligibility, so that is why I was targetting Lucic. I looked at Desharnais stats and he doesn't take many shots, or get much pims, but he does have chemistry with Pacioretty.

He may also trade Datsyuk for J.Staal (top line centre but he's getting older and i'm rebuilding this team from scratch).

He has the 6th prospect pick in the draft, which I could use to potentially draft Grigorenko, Schultz, Silfverberg, etc.

To me Lucic makes this trade because of mulit cats. 26G-35A-61pts which will steady out just the same, but its the HITS and PIM where he will help you. 26th among the league and 2nd for LW in hits (201)

From a Detroiter, Franzen just does not perform after Jan.

WHOOAAA wait a minute....i just saw your team. After Staal, your rough @ center. Your W on both sides are nice. Can you work Desharnais-Datsyuk for Staal-Franzen-and mayber someone from your farm?

He did say he could trade either Datsyuk or Lucic, plus another player.

His most recent offer

His
Lucic
Desharnais
1st round farm

for

My
J.Staal
Franzen
Schroeder
1st round pro

So I would get a #2 type C in Desharnais. With the #1 round farm pick (6th overall) could draft Grigorenko, Forsberg, Schultz. Take this deal or try to get Dats instead despite age?

Push back,
Take the first offer that he changed his mind on. I love that offer for you and if he was willing to do it before he'll do it again if you play hardball. Lucic is a hit machine and his +- is always lovely.

Believe me I tried to get that original offer. He seems to be adamant apon not trading both Datsyuk and Lucic.

For Datsyuk looks like the price is too high as he wants Luongo for Vokoun.

So take the Lucic/Desharnais/1st farm pick?

Yes that's still a good deal for you but don't be surprised to see Desharnais tail off after next season. This year Eller will be chomping at his ice time and by 2013-14 Galchenyuk will also be earning big minutes. The chemistry between DD and Max Pac is great now but I really don't see DD being a long term answer in Mtl.

So present offers are

DEAL 1
Lucic
Desharnais
1st round farm

for

J.Staal
Franzen
Shroeder
1st round pro

DEAL 2
Datsyuk
Desharnais

For

J.Staal
franzen

So basically I can further supplement hits/pims/sog (deal 1) or do a positional trade (deal 2)

Over the last 3 seasons Staal has been statistically superior per game compared to Lucic in my league (which is very similar to yours). Now that Staal isn't a 3rd line center anymore he should only get better. I would hold onto Staal. I personally think that Lucic is overrated.
