I'm currently in a twelve team league that has eight keepers. The league counts almost every stat (inc. TOI, hits, blocked shots, PIM, etc.) and allows for a full 18 man roster to play every night. Last year I came in second place am hoping to be very competitive again this year.

This all being said, I'm debating who to keep and who to try and trade for draft picks. I have Crosby, Giroux, Price, Pietrangelo, Subban, Hall, Backes, Rask, E. Kane, Getzlaf, and Niemi. I also have Callahan, Pacioretty, and Lindback who I don't plan on keeping.

Right now I'm for sure planning on attempting to turn Getzlaf and Niemi into draft picks. I'm also debating between trading Hall for a pick.

Any advice?

Keep Hall and turning Getz would be great. Hall will definitely start to pick up the points. He's just got to stay away from freak injuries.

With that list actually, I'd turn down Subban because you could easily redraft him.

Also, if you could use Hall and Getz for guys like Ovie/Geno (long shots), Backstrom, or an upgrade in net. Rask/Getz/Hall could land you someone pretty decent. Look for the teams with really bad 5-8 choices and target their best.

Most teams are pretty balanced in terms of options for keepers... in that they have at about 7 good options. And I think Price/Rask would be a pretty strong tandem if I can keep that.

I'm hesitant to let Subban into the draft though because he contributes to so many categories (SOG, TOI, PIM, etc.), but I'll definitely consider it. Maybe I can package Getzlaf and Niemi for an additional 9th round (1st) pick. Or would I be better to acquire to later picks?
