Default Ryan Nugent-Hopkins for H. Sedin??

Should I trade my RNH for Henrik Sedin?

Here is my team (7 keepers H2H league - 9F-4D-2G-6 bench - G,A,PTS,+/-,PIM,PP,GWG). BTW - Ds are not popular keepers in this league.

I'm keeping these 5 for sure:
Steven Stamkos
Ryan Getzlaf
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Jonathan Quick
Marian Hossa
------
Niklas Backstrom (G)
Dany Heathly
Brayden Holtby
Mike Richards
Jonathan Huberdeau
Chris Kunitz
Brad Marchant
Mike Neuvirth

I won last year and should compete again this year. Should I pull the trigger?

Thanks!

Sedin is a point per game player at worst. He had a little down year and still got 81 points and keep in mind he will turn 32 in september, so he still has 4 to 6 years of great production left.

RNH might become as good as Sedin, but who knows?

I´d do it, especially when you have a chance to win this year.

I would definitely do that.

Another thing to note is that Henrik is extremely durable, which will be very valuable to you if you're planning on contending again.

For sure I would do that. Winning last year and having a competitive team is key in doing this deal.

RNH comes with risk, a short track record.

Sedin has age sneaking up on him, which is a risk.

In an effort to explain age, the following stars did the following. The first number is the season they were 33 and then subsequent seasons. I would suggest that wear and tear starts affecting the number of games they play. Some missed a season due to the strike.

Sakic 79 58 87 87 100 40 12
Sundin 75 78 76 78 28
Fedorov 83 65 44 42 41 33
Modano 85 44 77 43 57 46 30 15
Roenick 59 47 22 28 33 13
Datsyuk 59 67
Selanne 64 32 90 94 23 54 48 80 66

(Sakic & Sundin sure remained sexy in old age!)

Almost universally, age 33 is a good season. Age 34 starts showing more break downs.

In order to justify this trade, Sedin needs to thoroughly spank RNH this coming season.

I have RNH in one keeper pool. This would be a dilemma if I was offered H Sedin for him. I'm certain I would decline, but we have salary cap. I couldn't accomodate the extra money.

If you have won last year without Sedin and with RNH in his rookie season, I would think that your team will get better even if you keep RNH. On that basis and because RNH will most likely be one of your keepers for the next 15 years to come, I would not do that deal. Getting Sedin is a safer way for you to win again next year however, but this seems to me like a short term approach that you do not need to take at this point.

Exactly what I was thinking. RNH holds more value in a keeper league. Personally I would not do the deal.

We finally agreed on the following deal:

I sent:
Henrik Zetterberg
RNH
2nd round pick
for
Ryan Getzlaf
Henrik Sedin
5th round pick

I' about to trade Mike Richards for Marleau + 4th round pick.

What you guys think of the RNH deal?
