Personnaly, I think Filppula is about to take the next step.

Michalek is so injury prone, but so underated IMO.

I love Burrows (hard worker, that does the dirty things), and for the most part gets to play with the twins.

Filppula is a keeper and Michalek is worth the risk.

Burrows, as good as he is and has been with the twins is still a stop gap (long one) in Van..
I noticed Booth played with the twins the most in the playoffs and Kassian took some time as well. It pains me, but I'd drop/trade Burrows.

I tend to agree here. Burrows has never put up very big numbers playing with the twins.

Filppula is the definite keeper here and so I guess I would take Michalek too. He has shown flashes. There are a lot of young guys behind him bitting at his heals so if that is not motivation enough then I don't know what is.

Brosive,

I would actually go with Filppula and Burrows. I like Michalek on the Sens and think he'll pick up where he left off last season but his armor gets dinged up too much for my liking - he still hasn't played a full 82 game season yet. You also need the PIM and +/- that Burrows will supply as Lucic is your only other grunt. Go with Filppula for the points and Burrows for the points and all the other goodies.

Burrows is my guy to cut.

Filppula's role is about to be expanded a year after being fantastic for the Wings and the leading scorer for Finland at the WCs.

Michalek had a(nother) breakout season last year and is going to continue to grow with this young Sens team.

I'd probably lean towards cutting Michalek...but I'll admit that part of my reasoning is because I would love to own both the Sedins and Burrows on one team lol. It is a bit feast or famine but hell it'd be fun to watch.

As for the rational part of my reasoning, here goes:

Michalek is just a little too brittle for my tastes personally. While he plays very well off Spezza there is something about Michalek that just makes me queasy.
With regards to Burrows, as fungchen mentioned above he brings the peripherals and the potential for a solid amount of points. Another thing to consider is that with Kesler out to start the season there is a chance that Burrows will get time on the top unit.
In reference to Team Ramrod's comments about Booth playing with the Sedins during the playoffs, I honestly wouldn't worry too much about that. I think that was more of a move to try and get Kesler going because he and Burrows typically play well together.

Burrows plays very well off the Sedins, they read each other well and I think Burrows is actually better as a hockey player himself than some give him credit for.

Anyways, I'd cut Michalek. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was thinking of choosing michalek too mostly because burrows brings some pims and good +/- that ill need. I figured it would be between those two. All great points brought up

His GP totals through his career have been 81, 78, 79, 77, 66, 66, and 77. That's two years with any substantial time missed, albeit a lot of those 66 games in each year were played at far less than 100%.

I don't really see MM as being all that brittle. He's totally recovered from his knee injuries, and although speed used to be such a huge part of his game, he's adapted very well with the step lost due to surgeries.

Filppula and Michalek for me. PIM and +/- can be found on the waiver wire, 66 points (Filppula) and 35 goals (Michalek) can't.
