Welcome flanders. I\'m not the most knowledgeable of the guys here but i\'ll offer my 2 cents. My question to you tho is are you trying to build young
1. Brindamour-think he\'s got at least another quality year and the team should be better now that the hangover`has cleared.
2. Nylander-if he\'s a ranger, you have jagr already so might as well get the bonus points
3. Michalek- kind of skeptical on this one but he did seem to have some pretty good chemistry with the big line and depending on who they get from FA(drury maybe) might be worth the gamble.
4. Gagne- if Philly lands a #1 C from FA he should be back to where he was with Forsberg there. might even be better with a better lineup than last years. keep in mind tho i\'m a bit biased here lol.
5. Pomminville- i know a lot of peeps think his production will drop once they lose briere but he\'s young, has done some scoring so he might be worth the gamble as well.

I think a lot has to depend on if your trying to stay young or if you want vets. I would\'ve liked to put Demitra on the list but to risky with his history. \"if\" he and Gaborik can play all year tho i think there is gonna be some big points from the pair. That\'s prolly as likely tho as winning the lottery tho.
I didn\'t see any D men on your list, have you already decided on your 4 choices.

******just so your aware, Dobber offers a package that includes a Prospect Report-totally awesome, full in depth preview of the next generation. There\'s also a preview of next years players and a playoff preview, I think the first Player preview comes out Aug 1st then an update is done a week before the season begins if i remember correctly. Flip around the site here and you can see a preview on it. Depending on how hard core you are into your pools i\'d say it is better than ANY of the magazines that become available before the season begins.

Sorry about the book, hope this helps out a bit. Wait for the real guys to start posting tho, there\'s some very knowlegeable peeps here that help make this the best hockey site anywhere. GL.

Hi Flanders and welcome!!

Here is my top 5

Gagne (conditional on a center)
Nylander (if he stays with Jags)
Demitra ( health??)
Michalek
this one is tough, but I will go with Rolston (gets better with age)

Thanks for the input guys...

I\'m not too worried about defence -- I plan to pick up my d-men and goalie with my last five picks (the pool has only six teams, so there will still be some good under-rated defense talent available late -- Weber, Liles, M.A. Bergeron, etc.) With only 20 of the 25 players\' points counting each year I\'m hoping my D-men will be drops, so I\'m going for all forwards first.

I was leaning toward 1.Nylander 2.Gagne 3.Michalek...... I have the 5th pick of 6 in the first round in September, so Nylander, I think will probably go before I get the chance (top 25 scorer not even drafted after 90 picks! I think we all fell asleep in the first draft!). I\'m pretty sure Michalek will be there when my turn comes. I made a few mistakes in the earlier rounds of the draft, in retrospect -- for instance, I chose Semin over Marleau, when I think I could have had Semin two or three rounds later ..... Hopefully I made the right choice!

87Flyer: Are Dobber\'s products available for instant download, or are they mailed out?

Thanks again guys.

Dobber sends the file through your email. I use a basic hotmail address and had no problems with it. If you look on the left of the page you\'ll see the \'07 prospect report, it will give you some info on it. You can order just that or go for the full package(which is what i did lol) and then he sends it to you. From what i\'ve read in the prospect report i can\'t wait for the Aug 1st report on the rest of the league. Usually i buy all the regular magazines from year to year but i dont see that happening this year lmao. Plus you get Dobber\'s way ahead of when the regular mags come out. Hope that explained it properly.

I would grab a top d-man or top goalie with your 5th pick...like Lidstrom or Luongo if you have to have these positions, why not have the best guy there is? Lidstrom will outpoint a lot of those forwards..

Like I said with all Phillys moves ya better grab Gagne...with Briere as his center....should be gold... and Nylander winding up in Edmontons anemic offense...I\'d drop him down the chart,,

I agree,

Nylander\'s stock just dropped for sure..... Maybe he\'ll get on Hemsky\'s line and develop some chemistry but even so that wouldn\'t be as ideal as his previous situation with Straka and Jagr.

Gagne should enjoy having some talent around!
